Will she make it to the final ?
Hello, Yesterday, my favorite tennis player Kim Clijsters won her first match in the WTA-tennis-tournament in Cincinnati (US). She is making her comeback now after a inactivity-period of about 2 years (in which her first child was born). Bookmakers are not giving this Belgian girl (of 26 years old) much chance to reach the final. She got a rating of 10:1 to reach the final. As a Belgian citizen myself, i cannot immediately agree with the bookmakers who are thinking she will be wiped out in the 3rd round. So i asked the i ching : will Kim Clijsters reach the final at the WTA-tennis-tournament in Cincinnati (US) 2009 ? (I did NOT ask : will she win the final ?) This is the sign i received : Year: c, Month: s, Day: t-V, Empty: w & wa Strip - 23 Cup - 50 G y - R e - red B s K t - - J P wa - - grn P sh X B yo - blk G m X B yo - wht R e X U K h - gry P wa - - P c - - yel First observation : A self line K star turning into a P star which can kill back at the K (but the self line is not moving). Could this be a troubled K star or not ? I don't think it is (because it is not a moving line). But if it is, then there is a B & K combo formed at lines 4 & 5. Second observation : even if there is no B & K combo, there seems to be a hesitation combo on lines 2 & 3 + also a "e & wa" combo on lines 1 & 2. This is a bit confusing. The good e&wa combo is a good sign for Kim Clijsters and could mean she will make it to the final. But the e&wa combo in this sign is partially being overlapped by a hesitation combo. I checked this up in the texts of Alex Chiu and he sais about this particular hesitation combo : G m moves producing a moving R e, and they both form into a star which strikes back. It's usually a good sign. So the hesitation combo is not hurting the overlapping e&wa combo after all ??? I'm not sure, because there is more : the bottom gua strikes back, which basically means you don't feel safe and you are hesitating. So more hesitation appearing in the bottom gua ... BUT WAIT : B yo on line 4 seems to repel away the G m on line 3. So (if i'm not mistaking) Byo repels away line 3. Does this mean the hesitation combo does not exist anymore ? And also the gua striking back is gone ? Thus only the e&wa combo remains and this is the winner combo in sports, sais alex Chiu. Based on this information, i would guess she will make it to the final. But my interpretation of the i ching rules can be completely wrong as i am not an experienced i ching user. What do you think about all this "combo-stuff" ? Best greetings, Paul (Belgium)

Today, Kim Clijsters lost the quarter final against the russian talent Danira Safina (nr 1 in the world) in the Cincinnati WTA tennis tournament. Looking back at the sign I received a few days ago (this is always interesting of course), it seems to be that the "e & wa-winner-combo", which is normally "the boss" when asking about sports, is not invincible. In this sign, the e & wa-combo was being overlapped by a hesitation combo and furthermore there was also a bottom gua striking back (which means more hesitation). Luckily i didn't place a bet, because - unexperienced as I am - i didn't trust the sign. There was also a line repelling away the hesitation combo. But what is more important ??? the non-traditional hesitation combo or the repel law ??? I don't know, that's why i didn't place a bet. Holy @#$% for those who did place a bet, but that's - hopefully - not my fault. Paul.

Divination methods are rarely right on spot, you did a good choice to not bet

yes Griffith, What you are saying is very important, I think. As far as I know, it all depends on your conviction. If you belief in I Ching, if you can trust it just with the attitude of a small child, then it works pretty well and very accurate. I'm using the regular i ching (= the easy one with the quotes) since about 20 years now and it ALWAYS - or almost always - gives me the right advice (I expect it to do so without any doubt). Actually the regular I Ching has saved my life (litteraly !) several times, just by giving me the right quote at the right time. A doubt is a conviction too, and mostly a strong one. In that case you are convinced that it does not work or that it is rarely right on spot. I ching reacts accordingly to your belief and gives you exactly what you are asking for : a sign that will - beyond any doubt - prove to you that I Ching does not work... I Ching is not joking with you, it simply respects your conviction totally. Why should it try to convince you of something else ? You are the boss in your own mind and you have the complete freedom to form whatever conviction you want. I Ching doesn't care about what you choose to put your trust into, it respects all your beliefs. For what it's worth. Of course, there is much more to say on this topic. Paul

Hi Paul, I saw your post same day you posted it. my first thought was that she won't win simply because the name of hexes says: 23 hex Splitting Apart - 50 hex cup other sighs just confirm what i had in mind, like lower gua striking back etc. I ching is very accurate as long as you had a good toss and can read well . the more experience ones have the better .

Strangely enough, there appears to be a "little tail" in this topic : Less than a month after the WTA-tennis-tournament in Cincinnati, Belgian "tennismama" Kim Clijsters won the US Open grand slam tournament. Thanks to a wild card, and without having a WTA-ranking at the start of the US Open ! She immediately jumps from nothing to WTA-ranking 19 after this amazing victory. Maybe (?), this also throws another light on the original hexagram with which I originally started this topic. In that particular hexagram, the "e & wa-combo", which is the winner combo in sports, was partially being overlapped by a hesitation combo. So maybe that sign was telling us that victory (=> e&wa-combo) was coming for Kim Clijsters but not yet in Cincinnati, it would take some more time (=> hesitation combo). For what it's worth... Paul
