What's the best way to loose weight?
We discuss many topics in this forum, but I would love to know someday what it would feel like to have a 6 pack or atleast be able to take off my shirt at the beach just once and not feel embarresed. I have listed a few sites here that seem helpful, I'm hoping you all will do the same. And just in case anyone out there thinks I have started this topic thinking I am lazy and just don't feel like working out and eating right, your wrong. Sleeping allows your body to recuperate. Then the body can metabolize food better. The more rest the better. It also keeps one youthful; hence the idea 'getting your beauty sleep'.

That's what I thought, but then a fitness fanatic told me that I should sleep as little as possible. I'm so confused.

Well in certain circumstances like if you are in the Marines, you may not get much sleep in basic training or something. But, that is just insane battle preparation. A normal person cannot keep up that pace. It's just not possible, and it's stupid. It will throw your metabolism out. I mean, those guys are hardbodies only while in training. But after that they just turn into fat bodies. You must sleep, and exercise moderately. Those muscle geeks are usually on steroids anyway. The people with the really big hard muscles, they are on drugs.

sleep is important, .. Buy a treadmill, very good for loosing weight.. Girl sold seperately. :lol: if your going to the gym and working out and not loosing weight then your doing something wrong, your eating the wrong food. If you want a six pack, you must stick to protein food more than carbs, do not delete the carbs from your diet but limit them to very little and more protein. That six pack will come eventually, quicker if you jump rope or jog on the spot for 30 minutes.. 15 minutes if your just starting. Hope that helps. :wink:

wwfjdraw, there's a trick to losing weight. The simple trick is don't eat animal products or processed foods and that means no processed foods at all, not even pasta which is actually converted to sugar in your system. If you continue eating that way, you'll lose 15-20 pounds a month. If you're really fat you'll need to carry some fruit with you all the time in case your sugar drops or you get hungry. Once you're on your way and losing some tonage I'd suggest you see a nutritionalist to make sure you're getting your nutrients and enought protiens and calories, b12 etc. Dont eat fruits and vegetables at the same sitting either.

You dont need to exclude Animal food, such as CHICKEN, PORK, TURKEY, and other Lean meats are all good for a diet., specially FISH. Cheese is also good for DIET, now depends which Cheese, choose a Cheese where it is low in fat of course. You can enjoy your DIET as long as you eat the right food and most important cutting out CARBS but not completely, like have a sandwitch with TURKEY or TUNA and use the bread where it comtains many different seeds (brown in color) MAKE SURE you look at how much SUGAR it has also, you dont want those breads that contains a lot of SUGAR. You can also eat Wholemeal Pasta (small portion) just to alternate your foods..

The hardest thing is the wife. She wanted to go out to eat and I said that's fine as long as I only had something light. She got mad saying that she doesn't like going out to spend the money going out if I was only going to eat light. She ordered a big fattenimg appetizer that was fried greasy and she got mad at me for only taking a couple bites. She got mad at me for me refusing to order ice cream after dinner. Now she's threatening a divorce if I keep up this healthy new lifestyle.

Well theres your problem wwfjdraw, your wife wants you to eat SUGAR and fried junk, and if you dont she wants a divorce ?? Never would i accept such stupidity.. sorry but i do think its the most stupid thing i`ve heard. i feel for you.. You need to make your wife understand that you are trying to slim down and cut the crappy food..

Now she's threatening a divorce if I keep up this healthy new lifestyle. If you're serious about losing weight then why the hell are you going to a resturant? Does your wife want you to stay fat? Is she fat too? There are other ways of eating and still lose some weight but involves deciding and choosing. Yes, you can start eating low fat things but your problem is knowing when to stop eating. No matter how low in fat a food is, if you eat enough of it, you'll certainly gain weight. Using my method of losing the weight, you don't have to decide anything, just eat whatever you want and as much as you want, just no animal products and processed foods. If you start losing more than 25 pounds within the first month, you can eat normal meals on the weekend to slow down the weight loss. By eating this way, you're changing your setpoint and you'll lose weight until you meet the new setpoint established by your new diet. Right now you're just eating to maintain your weight(that's how the body works). Trust me on this because I used to have a weight problem too. She is 20 pounds more then me. This may sound out of place but my inlaws are really fat and they don't invite us over for a visit unless they have food to offer us and the conversation always turns to food at some point no matter where we are. Some people eat to live while others live to eat. I'm almost convinced that fat people expect normal sized people to be as obsessed with food as they are. I only think about food when I'm sitting down to eat and never in the mid afternoon or evening but my sis in law is always munching on something like candy or pastry. It's really sad.

soem people got surgery to lose weight, surgery at mouth to reduce bite so that they must eat very little amount of food. It works, because they literally cannot have enough time to overeat in their day.
