But Drew is letting this guy attack everyone on the boards and we have users that will not come here anymore because of it. He can still post here all he wants, but Drew needs to wake up and smell the coffee... You know, christianity is more of a superstition than anything else when you think about it. Christians are extremely superstitious in that many believe if they don't go to church every sunday, something bad will happen to them but that's clearly nonsense. Christians are also afraid to critisize other christians for that same reason. I personally wouldn't have any problem busting their balls because I know I wouldn't get struck down by lightning but these people are so afraid, they'll say or do anything to avoid the "hell fire". That has to be one of the worse superstitions man has ever created! Doesn't mankind have enough to worry about without being terrified for his eternal soul?

Clint you really do have an unhealthy obsession with Christianity. You dwell on it an enormous amount for someone who claims to dislike it. You had some bad experiences with Christian. So what? Grow up and get over it. Given the low church attendance vs. how many people claim to be Christian nothing you really said holds up. I grew up Christian and I never saw anyone displaying these superstitions you mention. In fact, the Bible tells Christians to speak out against other Christians if they arent acting biblically.

Phelps, I have to admit that although I admire and respect Christian principles, it's hard in this country to not develop an irrational aversion to Christianity because we so often have to deal with shrill Christians who do not represent the ideals that they supposedly should. Where are the Christians who promote peace and nonjudgementalness? Where are the ones who show respect for all religions and races? Where are the ones who preach love and tolerance, instead of hate and intolerance? They are out there, but we rarely notice them because obnoxious, self-righteous Christians (like ATA0) are out there making a bad name for Christians everywhere, just as obnoxious, self-righteous Muslims are making a bad name for Muslims everywhere. It's a reality of life, unfortunately. However, I will say that one of the nicest, most compassionate, and warm people I've ever met-- my best friend in college-- was a devout Christian. I was surprised when I found out, because I had always thought that all Christians were obnoxious assholes. I was wrong (and glad that I was wrong), but those loud, self-righteous ones are the kind that make the biggest waves, unfortunately.

The good Christians are out there. But like you said the ones that act poorly are the ones that are noticed the most. I have to admit though, outside of the television I havent really witnessed many Christians acting poorly while respresenting the faith.
