I listen to alot of rock music, among my favourites are, bonjovi, direstraits, fleetwood mac, iron maidon, pink floyd.
I love stuff like that, & no I don't think rock music or heavy metal is evil, far from it in actual fact.Alot of it is fairly spiritual, you shouldn't take some lyrics to seriously, sometimes it's for merely entertainment purposes.
I really don't think by listening to rock, it will inspire you to become evil.If anything you will become more passionate about life!
Rock is powerful!, in the right way.

What you listen to is called the song of the fool.
Twistin I know you don't like someone giving you advise, you say you are a good person, but you listen to bad music. I checked on some of the groups you listen to and it's fairly criticized by some Christians.
The super group, Metallica, in the song "Jump In the Fire", commands young people to jump into hell:
"Follow me now my child . . .
DO JUST AS I SAY . . .
Jump by your will or be taken by force I'll get you either way . . .
So reach down grab my hand walk with me through the land
COME HOME WHERE YOU BELONG
So come on JUMP IN THE FIRE."

Should listen to that, it's a very good sermon.
I try to live by the bible, and I live by "do what is good, do not do what is wrong". That phrase can be transcended to many things such as "listen to what is good, do not listen to what is bad". I don't listen to any music much at all because it is wrong, I listen to afew church songs and listen to audio sermons. Listening to god is better than any music made by man. I have stacks of heavy metal cd's I never listen to anymore and I was considering selling them on ebay but then I would be passing on evil to other people and I will not do that, so I'm planning to burn them.

It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools.
Those bands who are making that type of music are fools.
It starts with burning CDs, then goes onto burning books, and then you're a full(fool) fledged fascist NAZI.
Get a clue, son.
You are headed down a dark path.
Rock started in black Baptist churches.
The people who preached that "rock is the "Devil's music", were racist Klansmen (or sympathisers).
There are many Christian metal bands now.
Stop living in the past.
I doubt that music really offends God, seeing that David danced naked before the Lord.
Doesn't get more raucous than that.
wowchung- 03-27-2007
do you think david had a long schlong?I like dream theater, nirvana, pantera, ozzy, rush, bob seager, kiss, skid row to name just a few.

God isn't offended by anything! Why should he be? He created the universe. Isn't that right, ATA0?

Christians find everything wrong they can with music. Whoever said that doesn't know what he/she is talking about. Yes, it is about hell, but it's not glorifying it. The lyrics are suppose to be from the devil's point of view, and it's talking about how easy it is for people to give into temptation. Let me guess, you think Master of Puppets, Leper Messiah, and The God that Failed are anti-Christian don't you? If you do, you need to look deeper into the lyrics and figure out what they really mean. Those are the songs most Christians talk about when they have no idea what they really mean. MetallicA has never been straight forward with their messages. There's always deeper meaning behind their lyrics.

I listen to metal mostly. My brother is into hip hop/R&B/rap so some of his stuff rubs off on to me, but I really can't stand recent gangster rap type shit. I like some jazz, some blues, even some pop on occasions. I like some older and recent rock. Techno, electronica, trance. Music in that vein inspired from video games too. I also enjoy some classical too, though a lot of it is very boring to me. The only genre I can't really like anything from is country, although I do like that "It's a dark night" song from the From Dusk Til Dawn movie. I guess that could be classified as country. :)
Predominantly I'm a black/death/thrash metal guy though. And if you want to get uppity, ATA0, that's your problem really. I've burned no churches and raped no virgin Christian souls. But you haven't divulged your church's address yet.
As an aside, I think Christian music is inconceivably more brainwashing than rock or metal. But brainwashing is fine as long as you're brainwashed to the 'correct' setting, right?
