I wouldnt use memmi. Memmi basically is thick soy sauce, with bonito extract, but it has lots of wierd chemicals, including MSG in it. I'd reccomend boiling some soy sauce, or getting some really thick soysauce when cooking (For example, when I cook steak, I always use soysauce to simmer it in, and it gets thicker with heat). Memmi's ingredients are:
INGREDIENTS
Naturally brewed soy sauce (water, wheat, soybeans, salt), sugar, water, salt, vinegar, bonito extract, natural flavor, monosodium glutamate, caramel, sodium benzoate: less than 1/10 of 1% as a preservative, disodium inosinate, disodium guanylate, succinic acid.
Lots of nice stuff.
Maybe it does work, but I think it probably works by the body fighting it, or by giving you salt to surge your blood pressure, since the salt content is pretty high.
All I know, is now that I use the rings, I'm more sensitive to food, and my body likes to get rid of stuff fairly quick, especially bad stuff. So I dont know if I'd try it. Normal levels of MSG are usually OK, but this is a soup base, and it's meant to be put in soup and not meant to be eaten by itself, so whatever you do, dont eat a whole lot of it, as it is meant to be eaten watered down.
