We need to get pappa Lobsang all better.
Lobsang, please listen to this video and try to relax. You have what seems to be a cozy house, a beautiful fireplace, some nice antique looking clocks, a stereo system, and a personal library full of books. Despite your age you seem to be very agile. You have things to be grateful for. Your belly is nothing to hate yourself over, that could be taken care of with exercise and diet, but if not, that is OK too. Could I make a suggestion? Do you think it might be good to combine all of your video posts into just one ultimate lobsang video tutorial thread? That way it would be more chronological and easier for people to tell which videos they have/haven't watched. It would also be impressive to see how many pages you would make of it. Anyone that wanted to see them would be able to find them all in once place then.

Well maybe but I am about burned out on this. Someone gave me a webcam for Christmas and I was just trying it. I do not know much about them. Do you know how to get the image quality better or is that how they are. Could I need more memory?

Sinkron- 12-27-2008

The image quality on yours seems to be good. I don't know a whole lot about web cams but the standard resolution for video on webcams is usually 640x480 (for video - still image resolution capabilities are usually higher like 1.3 mega pixels). Things can be tweaked in the software settings like lighting/color correction. Is the software doing the face tracking in your videos or is the camera itself moving around? You could perhaps try turning the face tracking off for one video to see if the quality is better because if the face tracking is software based that means it has to zoom in on certain parts of the image to follow you, thus maybe reducing the quality slightly.

What I mean is that like when I move my arm quickly like showing a self defense move it is like a blur. Someone said it might be a memory problem. But no the camera does not move. It just follows from inside somehow. But I post on a martial arts site and would like to move quickly and not in a blur.

I don't know but am looking for ways to figure it out. Watch this tutorial about reducing blur: http://www.5min.com/Video/How-to-Remove-Fullscreen-Blur-from-YouTube-Videos-11657291

nevermind that video isn't about this - sorry i would think it would have something to do with tweaking the frame rate settings - try recording at a lower resolution - that might in turn allow the webcam to record at a higher frame rate or see if you can change the frame rate settings in the software settings it could also be that plugging the camera into a USB 2.0 enabled port would help

Lobsang- 12-27-2008

Yeah I tried most of those things. I just don't get it. The only reason I ask is because I do know of people on line on youtube recording with much better results using a webcam.

Oh well thanks. I really do not understand what to do but it seems to be in the ball park. I will show it to someone who will understand. I am illiterate with computers. Thanks I shall now revert back to being insane. I have less obligations in society in that paradigm.

Most big name vloggers/ online video stars use camcorders. A webcam doesn't have a frame-rate fast enough to capture all the movements. I use the Canon FS100. It is very pricey ($300), but INCREDIBLE quality. I know some people use the Aiptek HD+ and it does wonders for only $150. Most of my friends use the flip (they got it free for publicity). I believe it is $120. The only problem with the flip is that the quality is a lot lower and the price difference isn't that great from the Aiptek. //edit: didn't see Sinkron's post there. That might help you for a while, too. If you want to get into it heavy though you might want a better camera.

Sinkron- 12-27-2008

That's cool so you recommend Aiptek HD+ for overall quality and value, Anon? I have been wanting a video camera for a while. Not just for vlogging or youtube videos but also for family things.

Anon- 12-28-2008

Yes I do recommend the Aiptek. It has a lot of "bang for your buck". All of your basic features are there for you to use. Then you can go deeper into the menus if you need something specific. It has a lot of fun features too, like you can upload to Youtube with it. A secondary plus is that it is fairly small.
