WACHOVIA
jaguar, do you still suggest to buy wachovia?
what else do you suggest for today and tomorrow?
Wachovia was bought out....... Don't buy.
Do you have an account already?
The first thing you want to make sure, is that you don't put all your cash in one stock.
Or, to be more precise: If you have 6000 $, you may put it all in one stock. But, if you have 15000 $ you should split it in half and buy two different things;
if you have 22000 $ you split it in 3, and so on.
I don't know what your commissions are (the cost of making the trades); a round-trip trade will obviously cost 2 times that + the SEC fee which is 0.0000558 x the amount of your sale.
You have to know your costs in order to figure out how to best partition your cash to minimize both the cost and the risk
but which stock you suggest for next week?
That's why I'm asking you if you took care of this stuff first - it needs to be done before you start using the money
There's a lot of crap to buy, choosing stocks is not really a problem.
But you said you had "lost all" in the past, you don't want to do that again, now do you?
So first go and do all of the following: 1) open account 2) see commissions 3) split the cash in several parts to use them separately.
By the way you can only buy stuff once every 3 workdays (using the same money) within a cash account.
Personally I require less than 1% per trade, so I cannot make you 50%. But I can do it consistently, I haven't closed a position at a loss for 1 year and 8 months now
I want to invest 2500$ and earn fast.
I pay about 5% commissions
what you suggets for next week?
what for next month?
what for next year?
I have to tell you, that is too little money and too high commission, you won't be able to make a profit.
Here is why: you buy 100 shares of something at 25. That will cost you an enormous $125 because your fee was 5%.
Then afterwards the sale will presumably also cost over $125, which means that you must earn an impossible 10% just to BREAK EVEN (pareggio).
So, you need more money and a cheaper broker.
Brokerage firms have to insure their deposits, and those that have to protect million dollar accounts will have higher commissions.
But discount brokers protect only up to $100,000 and they are able to offer cheaper trades, such as $10, $7, or even $0 in some cases like this firm called Zecco.
If you get $4000 instead of $2500, and a cheap commission like $10 flat instead of 5%, then it will be much easier to turn green.
In that case: if you buy 100 shares at 25, that cost you a total of $20 both ways, and then your stock only needs to go up less than 1% to break even, and you can pocket the rest.
You definitely need to be more patient Franco, you have the mindset of an immortal and you need to apply it to money. To think long term, and longevity is the name of the game
just tell me what stocks you will buy next week
I take responsability for my bets
Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) at $22.20 and under.
I'm looking forward to hearing what you're going to do when the stock goes up 3%, but your commission was 5%.
mm.. can't you find a stock which you think can go up 15% in a week?
MGM Mirage (NYSE: MGM) at 13.00
Sony (NYSE: SNE) at 23.00
You have a coal company ARLP reporting earnings on Monday.
The first and the third of these 3 stocks could conceiveably move 15% in a week.
Wouldn't it be simpler though to find a cheaper brokerage, instead of having to make 15 as opposed to 3 percent?
Those expensive brokers are meant for bigger accounts over 100 and 500k, there's no reason for you to pay these high commissions.
THANK YOU JAGUAR!
please can you post each weekend 1 or 2 stocks you think will grow up more than 5% in the next week?
If not on forum, at least PM me, ok?
thanks
You can buy today (Friday), looks like a 1000 point drop. Use all your $2500 in a single stock. If it goes down after you buy it, don't sell.
There is another one, but it's a bit risky. Citigroup is now trading at a 1-year low of under 12.00, with a dividend coming on October 30.
This company has been hit by the financial crisis, I sold it at over 50 and it dropped to 12-13, losing over $200 billion in market value. It could theoretically go down further, to say 9;
but so far every time it dropped severely - it bounced very strongly back to 18 or 20. And that's all you're looking for - a temporary rise. The symbol is C on the NYSE.
Major investors include HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal ali-Suعud of the Saudi royal family
thank you
I wanted to buy mgm yesterday but 1 week ago i invested all in tenaris and I am waiting it goes up (it dropped severely this week)
