Vitamin C and the protein made with it (Collagen) are key
most everyone has subclinical scurvy adequate C can clean out arteries animals that produce C have clean arteries cancer cells send out signals to destroy collagen to make room to grow C is required to maintain skin, arteries, hair, etc. C is required for immune system Women might have the ability to produce small amounts of C until child bearing years are over. Smokers use up more C and age faster Our need for large amounts of C is a result of our lost ability to make C in our bodies from glucose like most animals. Humans are missing the enzyme gulonolactone oxidase but everything else needed for production is there. C is required for proper glucose processing. The sources that work the best that I've found are: Emergen-C (1111% per packet) Bolthouse C-Boost (1200% per cup natural from Acerola & Camu) Now True-C (Amla 667% natural) Doctors Best Camu Powder (667% natural) These sources aren't over acidic like most tablets and capsules.

My teacher took Vitamin C supplements religiously until they apparently caused some kind of crystal stone or cyst to form in his body. He was taking a lot though. I suggest eating more fruit with Vitamin C first before trying expensive supplements.
