Oil is not the solution. The Plug-In BioDiesel hybird is the car of the future and will remove our dependence on ALL oil (not just foreign). The eskimos and penguin-fuckers can keep their oil.

One of the solutions would be to legalise hemp, so that local co-op farms can form all across the US and every part of the plant can be used for a variety of things (see list above). One significant example would be to use the oil of the hemp plant to make plastics & fuel for our hybird vehicles. Plug-In BioDiesel hybrid vehicles would only need energy derived from plants and electricity (which can be produced in a clean way, such as those solar panels and my favorites: hydroelectricity and geothermal. The solution stares us in the face.

If you want to do something about high gas prices, you need to do what these people are doing and expose the criminals. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0J5c34wwRtA

Does that include the criminal in your AVATAR ATA. ?

You can thank everyone who votes Democrat in the United States (and especially California) for surging energy costs. When Newt wanted to start drilling for oil in the US more than a decade ago Bubba Clinton stopped it. Adding polar bears to the endangered species list now is nothing more than an attempt of the American left to limit the supply of oil worldwide, considering there are more panda bears in Alaska now than there were in 1974 when they were not considered to be endangered. Alaska's governerness is with me on this one. 10 years ago every major auto manufacturer had a 100% electric vehicle for lease in California (which got 100 miles per charge, with current Li-ion technology an electric car could easily get 500+ per charge at roughly 2 cents of electricity per mile), but the state of California decided to no longer require companies to produce electric cars to cut down on the smog in the state. Outside of enthusiasts and the fastest car on the planet you don't see electric cars on the road anymore. Mainly because they don't need oil changes, spark plugs, or really anything other than a tire rotation every few thousand miles after you buy them. You also have the Democrat Congress which has no desire to put in sane regulations on oil speculation, so that oil speculators have to speculate with same rules as everyone else. Under the present system oil futures are sold anonymously and on the margin, much as stocks were in the 1920s in America. Even now they refuse to allow oil companies to seek out oil in the US (the shale in the rocky mountains contains more oil than all of Saudi Arabia, but heaven forbid we kill a snow beetle while trying to get oil back to $15/barrel). Of course, the Chinese will be drilling 100km of the coast of Florida. The bubble will burst in time if China and India stop subsidizing oil, as no one in either country pays more than half the current market cost of oil products. If gas were 2USD per liter in Bangalore or Shanghai you wouldn't see nearly as much oil going there, which would greatly reduce the cost of oil in the civilized world. Combine that with the fact that most electricity is now generated with cheap (if not free, like solar) sources of energy there is absolutely no reason whatsoever not to push commuter transportation toward using electricity. I agreed to move to America 8 years ago because I had the opportunity to move to a country with 3% of the world's population consuming 25% of the world's resources while still maintaining my Osaka salary. Had I known the Democrats would do everything humanly possible to flush the country down the toilet I never would have come here. How idiots like Maxine Waters can honestly believe that socializing oil companies would have any impact on global oil prices when drilling in America is all but illegal boggles the mind. This is from the same Congress that wants to sue OPEC for rising oil prices, despite Canada and Venezuela being the two top exporters of oil to the United States. Contrary to leftist propaganda white male landowners where the only group to have rights under the Constitution because it was the only demographic that could be counted on at the time to have something resembling intelligence. The Federalist Papers (the documents that explain what the Constitution means in plain English, and something the Supreme Court should get around to reading) say so. It's hard to argue with denying Maxine Waters the same rights as a rationally thinking human being. In the words of the master: To equals, equality. To unequals, unequality.
