The Reality of Love
What is love? Everyone likes it. Everyone assumes it is real. That is is some high force connected with "god". Or that love is something inherently good. Well what is it? Well it is a feeling. But why does it exist? All emotions have evolved. We know that man has evolved from other more primitive life forms. These earlier life forms did not have emotions. They did not have social structure. They had no need for interactive emotions such as love, hate, jealousy and anger. So love is something that evolved. Now why would love evolve? Well it evolved because it functions to bond the social structure. It functions to hold people together. As man's brain evolved more complex emotions like love developed. This was to maintain the cohesive human unit. The family and tribe. So where does love come from? Well we have to ask over time what evolved? Well that is the material structure of the brain. So love is a manifestation of the structure of neurons and their relationships with each other. As are all other emotions. Without a brain material structure there is no love. It comes not from "God" or "goodness" or anywhere external to the material brain. And when the brain dies love is gone. So love is an adaptive mechanism rooted in the evolution of the brain. Nothing more. It is hard to understand this because man has trouble looking outside himself. For example. Why do parents love babies? Why do people sense love when they see a baby? Well this is based on the structure of the baby's face and the size as well as the lips and distance between the eyes. This is why people find certain animals cute. Because they resemble a baby's face. This is because there is an evolutionary need for the parent to be drawn to the infant and protect it. It is simple species survival. The baby looks the way it does so the parents will nurture it. And people are attracted to "cute" animals for this reason. They generate "love" feelings. So love is simply a trait that evolved for the welfare of the species. It is not anything special. It comes not from some God. It simply "is". If it would have been of benefit to the species for rape and incest to occur we would have no problems with those desires in people. Because there is no right or wrong in this world. There is only preservation, adaptation and evolution. And things like hate and rage are the same way as well. And even they have the same bases as love. And even they are based partially on cues like appearance or differences in behavior. Hate like love can benefit the tribe. Because to have conquest over another group or person hate is an asset. It is much easier to destroy a group or tribe that looks different than us. Or has different social structure. Examples would be how white people killed the Indians. How white people had black slaves. And why there are cohesive hate groups like the KKK. Why black people will kill a white person in a volatile black neighborhood and why whites will do the same. This is all based on brain structure. Nothing inherently right or wrong. Just evolution. So this is the reason we say God is good. We made the concept of God good because it hooks up with love and love keeps the species intact and preserves the tribe. And that is why racial mixing is so offensive to many. It is buried deep deep in our animal make up. And the ability to be attracted to a dramatically different race is a genetic fluke. And even still most people that are attracted to opposite races are not attracted to the pure form of that race but to traits in the other person that are similar to theirs. It is fundamental brain function. So I say there is no God. That there is no real love. All is just a bunch of animals trying to expand their species.

All is just a bunch of animals trying to expand their species Some concepts of God are wrong, but that doesn't mean there isn't a God. I think god isn't fully understood yet, but that he/she/it is good and not evil. God is when we perfect ourselves, so we can look at some people and say they are godlike or a perfected being. Life is not meaningless. Death is meaningless. Life is something that can grow forever. It's boundless, like the concept of heaven is boundless. Perpetual happiness is possible, and that is the reality people seek. That is the ultimate reality. Pain and suffering isn't what we're looking for, and it's not real in my opinion. Pain, suffering, and death are a temporal condition. Love and happiness is eternal.

Jimmy. When you are dead there is nothing to BE eternal. You are gone. Man likes to think of God as having a similar mind to his. But God has no mind. There is no God. Just universal consciousness that roots all matter and maintains it in general organization. Neither love or suffering is eternal. In order for them to exist there must be a living brain.

I'm in complete opposition to you. Some day you may die in this world, just to find out that dieing isn't within the realm of possibilities. Death is an illusion. Your senses see people die from this vantage point, but they aren't dead. They left this world that you presently live in.

Jimmy you are to smart to be delusional. When you die there in no more self. Only universal consciousness of which you are a part. But the self is gone forever.

Love doesn't exist in terms of connection with God,it happens that a woman wants to 'love' more a man with money and wealth rather than a man with no money and poor life, so, if love is unconditioned , why is there such a difference ? Because women are stupid , they need to procreate as soon as possible nad to do that they need a good mate, with money avaible to sustain her and her progenie. So love is a rather relative concept.

Love is conditional, but it doesn't have to be based on money. It could be based on beauty or intelligence. Really it depends on the weakness of the other person. If a person has a weakness for cute girls, he will be attracted to cute girls. If a girl has a weakness for money, she will be attracted to a guy with money. It depends on the weakness and strengh of the two people.
