telomerase, new supplement that creates immortality.
telomerase
Why Cells Die
In 1950, a researcher named Leonard Hayflick
discovered that cells isolated from the body would
divide about 50 to 60 times and then mysteriously
die. No amount of care and feeding could make
them live longer. For many years, the cause of this
phenomenon remained a mystery.
But this lingering question would be answered
after molecular cell biologists discovered that at the
end of each long strand of DNA there was a cap,
much like the plastic seal on the end of a shoelace.
And as on a shoelace, the DNA cap’s purpose was to
keep the DNA from unraveling. Scientists called this
structure a “telomere.”
Further, they learned that each time the cell
divided, a little piece of the telomere was eroded.
After about 60 divisions, it was completely gone,
allowing the DNA to unravel. Since then, it has
been discovered that free radicals can also chip
away at the telomere, shortening the cell’s lifespan.
However, scientists have documented the
existence of special cells that seem to be immortal.
Sperm and cancer cells possess this property. For
example, cancer cells taken from a patient named
Henrietta Lacks have been dividing for over seventy
years, producing trillions of cells — enough to
create an entire new person. These special cells
have been nicknamed “HeLa” cells and are used all
over the world for cancer research.
Cancer cells are immortal because they possess a
special enzyme called telomerase, which
continuously replenishes the damaged telomere.
Normal cells have little or no telomerase — with the
exception of sperm cells.
Humans could be immortal if all
their cells contained telomerase. A simple pill or
an injection of telomerase once per day is all that
is needed to keep someone young. Currently
telomerase is extremely expensive, it must
be extracted from the primary telomerase glands
in mammals which is hardly in abundance. The glands
from a slaughter house operation may only be able
to extract a dose or two, most do not even bother.
If you can find it, expect to pay upwards of $1000
per day, it is said that living for ever is expensive.
See now this is what this forum should show! An Immortality forum about immortality! Keep up the good work.

Based on the logic of this article wouldn't doing this turn all ones cells into cancerous cells? That might not work out so well:
For
example, cancer cells taken from a patient named
Henrietta Lacks have been dividing for over seventy
years, producing trillions of cells — enough to
create an entire new person. These special cells
have been nicknamed “HeLa” cells and are used all

Meanwhile Henrietta died from her cancer. Maybe having an immortal cell line (aka cancerous cells) inside you ain't so great.
Even Franco worked this one out.

Why don't you go on to do postgraduate study there? You could do a PhD on Alex's rings!
