I've read that the actual difference in strength in the different grades of magnets is around 1/2 what you think looking at the numbers. For instance, a grade 30 versus 45. It looks like the 45 is 50% stronger than the 30, but it is actually around 25%. So the difference between a 40 something grade and a 50 something grade is not so much, just more expensive to manufacture. I need some of those plastic magnet holders/rings that Alex uses by the way. Any ideas? Just read this article, and suddenly I feel very normal in comparison http://www.wired.com/gadgets/mods/news/2006/06/71087

They are really powerful.

yeah Alex's rings definitely can't I tested them on lid of an empty jar of taco bell salsa it could barely hold it up I had to do a couple tries and use the side of the lid/magnet. I think I will get some of these they're black and won't rust easy, or get green buildup and they're way stronger thanks for the link DPRK.

Great link, DPRK :) Just wondering though, how do I make them into rings like what Alex has done? Is there any place online where you can buy the plastic clippy thingys that hold the magnets in place? Cheers!
