SuperIching questions. On chapter one it says here:Here's an example: My friend Bob threw the I-Ching coins asking if he can win some money in Las Vegas. He got the hexagram .
Year Month Date Hour Empty Dates
fire soil
In later chapters, we will teach you how to read this graph. So don't worry for now! Just keep reading!
Rot
Hiders
B wood Opponent 6th line
P water 5th line
Money G soil 4th line
R metal Self 3rd line
P water 2nd line
Money G soil 1st line
The 3rd line is the self line. Since Bob is the one who threw the coins, the 3rd line represents Bob. The 2 money stars in this hexagram are soil. The month is fire. Fire produces soil (money). There is no wood element moving killing the soil money star. Money (soil) produces the self line (metal). Money will come to Bob. So I told Bob that he will definitely win some money in Vegas. I told Bob to hop on the bus immediately and head straight to Vegas. I told him to be there before the soil days end.
Result: He won about $200. It wasn't much, but at least he didn't lose.
So does this mean that in order to decide "when" something will happen for my cheatsheet that I can put in the rule:
That if an appointed line is being produced by the date then that's when somethings going to happen? And does this also apply if it's being killed by the date? Either way if the appointed line is turning into a different element is that when something is going to happen? See this is the problem, I don't know exactly "when' something is going to happen.
Or even if the above is true if the appointed of the date were bounding to anything else in the hexagram do I have to wait until the bondage is broken? If so does this only apply to appointed lines and dates and months or does this apply to all lines quiet moving non quiet? ect?
Again, this what I mean, we need a cheatsheet, because Alex's examples don't give us a complete checklist, we need a cheatsheet in the form of a checklist, where we can check off, stuff like this and then based on what we checked off we know what to base time on.

In the second chapter you show us a table here
and it shows that wood is healthy in sh, h, t, c,
but below you state in writing that wood is only healthy in h, t, and c. Why no longer sh?
In the table you show wood week in e, cn, and w. But below the table in writing you say wood is only week in e and w. Why no longer cn?
In the table you show wood buried in s, yo. But below the table in writing you say that wood is only buried in s, yo, and sh. Why did this change from the table?

Somebody owe me around $2000 for nearly 2 months. I called and faxed him several times, but he has been avoiding me. So I threw coins asking when will he finally respond to me. "When will I make him pay?" I got .
Year Month Date Hour Empty Dates
m s - iX sh & h
Fog
Hiders
B t --
R sh - U
P s --
G w R cn --
K y -- J
B t -
I am the self line, and that guy is the U line. He is hiding from me. He owes me money, and he doesn't want to pay me back. So he is a thief. The R star on the U line represents a thief, a robber, a criminal, etc. The self line's K star represents the police. So I am the police who is catching a thief. The date strikes the self line K star. So the self line K y moves killing the U line R sh. I think I will catch him and make him pay the money. But right now, the U line is empty so the self line cannot kill the U line yet. But on day sh, the U line will not be empty anymore. That's the day I shall make him pay.
Result: I faxed him saying that he only needs to give me half of the money which he owes me. Then, on day sh, he faxed me his credit card info allowing me to charge his credit card for the amount of $1700. He has been hiding from me for nearly 2 months, and now he finally responded. I didn't get the full amount of the money, but $1700 is just enough to satisfy me.
Now would this still be the case if the empty dates were only on non-appointed lines? Or would they not count in regarding "when" Something would happen?

Oh good Lord.
Why hasn't Alex fixed this yet? The books been out for years, he's had plenty of time, would you be willing to copy Alex's site page for page, and fix the errors then post it online? So we can get an exact copy without the errors on it?

Hey can you help me out?
Apparently this program or cheatsheet that I want to have made has ALREADY been MADE!
But the links to download it are NOT working anymore! You don't have access or a copy of the programs mentioned in this topic do you?
Topic I'm referring to:

Here's another one:
Here's an example: My friend Bob threw the I-Ching coins asking if he can win some money in Las Vegas.
Now the problem with this is that the entire hexagram contradicts itself.
Althought the month DOES produce the soil elements, it's ALSO being KILLED by the element of water in the SECOND line.
Although SOIL is producing the selfline, it is being killed by the 6th line of wood, or maybe killing doesn't matter if it's not appointed or isn't moving, see this is stuff that needs to be DIRECTLY OUTLINED when teaching this stuff.
And the list goes on, because there are all five elements in this example he's right, everything is being produced which means that it can be thought of as a good sign because the appointed is produced and so is the selfline, but because there are all five elements in this hexagram everything is being KILLED aswell! Everything that is appointed is also in someway being killed. So is this to say that producing and killing does not count unless it is the relationship between the date, month and the appointeds? And that is based on whatever strength the appointed is? And therefore for when decoding a hexagram we are first to look at what is non-appointed is producing or killing the appointed and then look at what the appointed is doing to each other?
wwfjdraw- 05-08-2009
Thanks, it would be great if Alex mentioned this, he always mentions stuff like: this happened because this was produced or killed by this, and then the reader thinks, oh I get it, if a line produces or kills something just like Alex said then it must be doing this or become strong or weak or whatever, but he fails to mention that it doesn't count if it's the date that is being killed by a line, I think that's where he screws up.
Well here's another question I have:
"A man threw coins asking if his sister will give birth safely. He got .
Year Month Date Hour Empty Dates
w (fire) cn (soil)
Advance
R e -
P wa - -
Sister star B yo - Self line
G m - -
R e - -
P wa - - U
The sister is appointed with the B yo line (metal) . The month (fire) is killing the B yo line, but the date (soil) is producing it. The sister will definitely be safe. Tomorrow in the m hour, the baby will be born.
Result: Next day, the baby was born in exactly m hour. The reason why the baby was born in m hour is because the appointed sister star B yo is bounded to the date cn. In m hour, the bondage was struck loose. Thus the sister gave birth in that hour. Based on "The Golden Text", when there is a bondage, it must be broken with a strike for it to become effective."
So I understand that he got the hour M because M is what strikes the bondage, but so does SH, I was wondering why he choose M instead of SH. Is it because M occurs first? Is it because M is what Struck the appointed, and what strikes the appointed is what decides when something will happen instead of what strikes the date?
wwfjdraw- 05-08-2009
Also in regards to what you said here:
"There is no contradiction. yeah Water Kills Fire but no line can kill the month or day. a line can only kill another line also that line need to move"
Does that mean that if I line is moving that it CAN kill the month or day? Or are you saying that I line HAS to be MOVING in order for it to be able to kill at ALL?!?
Also does this same rule apply for producing aswell? Like a line can't produce the month or day? Or is it only a moving line can produce a month or day? Or no matter what wether it's moving or not, the month or day can not be produced (only lines can produce other lines, not month or date)?
Or that a line can only produce other lines if it is moving? ect. Please explain.
Also if in the second hexagram a line turns into something else is it what it turns into that these rules apply to? Or do BOTH elements, in both hexagrams but in the same line have producing/killing abilities over other lines, month, date, ect. based on the answers to all the questions mentioned???
wwfjdraw- 05-08-2009
Here's an example: In February of 2001, a guy asked when will his stock go up. He threw the coins and got and .
Year Month Date Hour Empty Dates
y (wood) wa (soil)
Queen Unsettled
P sh - R e U -
B s o moves P wa --
R w - U B yo -
B yo o moves R w J --
K h - P cn -
P c x J G y --
This is a very unlucky sign. You see 2 B stars move. One of them even moves and changes into a P star which comes back and produces the B star. B star is the money killer. Avoid investing if this is the sign you got. Month s is around August, and month yo is around September. So I think there will be a stock market crash in August and September of 2001.
Result: Two airplanes crashed into the World Trade Center in September 11th. The market dropped sharply.
But I thought that if I line bounded to another line then you had to wait until the bondage was broken in order to see when it came to effect.
You can clearly see how he said S and YO were when something bad was going to happen, yet they were BOTH Bounded to the elements in the same hexagram. S was bounded to E (E is in the 6th line), and YO was bounded to CN (Cn is in the 2nd line).
So then shouldn't the rule be that whatever strikes first is when something will happen? Like whatever strikes S or E for that lines effectiveness, and whatever strikes Yo and Cn for that lines effecteness as to when something should have happened?
wwfjdraw- 05-08-2009
You said that only a moving line can strike another line.
Is it true then that only a moving line can produce another moving line?
And that only a moving line can kill another moving line?
wwfjdraw- 05-08-2009
I do understand that, believe me. But no matter how many times I read the entire book, there's always new questions that keep comming up, so if you can give me answers to those questions instead of asking me to read the entire book which I already have and which is the source of the questions hoping that someday I'll eventually find an answer, then I won't argue with you about that. But if you have answer, could you please just share it with me.
Thank you.
wwfjdraw- 05-08-2009
Also you say that in I-ching that only moving lines can produce or kill any other lines, and I'm not doubting an expert like you seem to be, but in the other I-Ching forum listed on superiching.com an expert says the following:
(I retyped it because the broken english this expert was using was giving me a headache).
So basically this is what was said on the other forum:
Before beginning, check to see which lines are month broken, if a line is month broken it is dead, can not produce or kill any other lines, no matter what!
1: If a line is struck by month, we can say that line has been month broken.
2: If the line was struck by the month AND is moving, AND has not been killed by either the date, another moving line, or killed back, then the month broken line is useless it can not cause or effect other lines, or be effected by other lines.
3: If the month broken line (aka line struck by month) is moving and is ALSO Killed by the date, or moving line, or killed back, then this line is only almost useless (whatever that means), If this line is an appointed star, it is a bad sign.
4: If the month broken line is a quiet line, then this line has no power of killing or producing other quiet lines, (so I guess it can still produce or kill moving lines?).Honestly I don't know. Therefore I advise a re-toss.
5: If the month is ALSO killing the broken line (aka line struck by month) then the line is completely useless, (but if the line is killing the month that broke it then it shall be usefull in comming months). I advise a re-toss if this happens.
(this summary for cheat sheet is based on westwun user of non-superiching students forum)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For non-month killed lines,
How to determine a line has the power of killing and producing other line
For Quiet Line :-
(1) If the quiet line is weak both under month and day, then it has no power of killing or producing other line.
(2) If the quiet line has been kill by either month or day, and weak under other sides, then it has no power of killing or producing other line.
(3) If the quiet line has been kill by both month and day, then it has no power of killing or producing other line.
(4) If the quiet line has been kill by either month or day, and been produce by other sides, then you have to see whether moving line of that hexagram is produce or killing that quiet line.
(5) If the quiet line is strong under month and day, then it has the power of killing or producing other quiet line.
For Moving Line :-
(1) Moving line is weak under month and day, and did not been kill by either month or day, but this moving line has move Retreat, move Leak (eg. K move to G, G move to R) or move Extinct, then the power of killing and producing has reduce.
Note : move Extinct (??) mean
wood element moving line move become s
fire element moving line move become h
metal element moving line move become y
soil or water element moving line move become cn
If the moving line got killed back, then it has no ower of killing or producing.
If the moving line got produce back or move Advance, then it has the power of killing or producing.
(2) Moving line has been kill by month or day, but been produce by other side, then it has the power of killing or producing.
(3) Moving line has been produce by both month and day, then it has the power of killing or producing.
(4) Move line has been kill by both both month and day, then it has no power of killing or producing.
Quiet line cannot produce or kill moving line, but moving line can produce or kill quiet line.
This rule is same as month and day can kill or produce hexagram line, but the hexagram line cannot produce or kill the month or day.
(this summary for cheat sheet is based on westwun user of non-superiching students forum)
So my question is did that expert just waste all that time for nothing in regards to what he wrote about quiet lines? Because your saying that a line has to be moving in order to kill or produce anything anyways? Is that correct?
I appreciate the help. Thanks.

Ahhh! I'm all confused now.
Let's retry this.
So your saying that only moving lines can affect other moving lines?
So that means that moving lines can not affect quiet Lines?
So does that mean that ONLY quiet lines can affect quiet lines?
And that while nothing can affect a quiet line except another quiet line, but that also quiet lines can therefore NOT affect moving lines?
I'm sorry for the confusion.
Thanks for any help you can give.
Your expertise is much appreciated.

I have contact Anon and have recieve no response, he obviously doesn't know anything about I-Ching or doesn't care to help.
I understand what your saying without arguing with you, but for now could you atleast just answer truthfully the 4 questions I asked with simply "yes" or "no" for each question?
Let's retry this.

Yes I know who you meant. I already contacted him, I contacted both Anons, from both forums, and none care to respond.
