Yes, but it is also important how is the toss. It must be neat, not too slow, not too fast , the table has to be clean and smooth and if a coin jump out or hit something the toss is probably flawed and you have to toss again after at least 1 hour.

I believe that i ching helped me get answers. I used a easy i ching book i got from barnes and noble and i am looking to get more info from Alex's super i ching book. I tossed one 2006 new nickel, and i used a new 2006 quarter without tossing 3 coins. I believed that my answers proved that something was watching my life. I actually did i ching before the truth re: my problems. And i asked i ching about the people in lmy life that were part of my problems.
I tossed coin that was on a carpet, and it fell wherever. So i guess it may work on the carpet also.
