Re:
If by supernatural you mean beyond or not subject to the old laws of physics, then yes. Currently it's not a form of energy truely measurable by science, other than to observe that it has an electro-magnetic property.
If it has electro-magnetic property that is observable. We should test for it.
Placebo effect. Let us look carefully at this. Why was accupuncture supported by Nixon to the extent that the ruler of American politics would put his own credibility on the line, and why has it become a health care modality comparable to western medicine?
I don't know why Nixon supports anything, but that is irrelevant to whether it is a placebo or not. If you find relief with placebo, of course you will become a fan. Why wouldn't you?
To assume that the practice has recieved such acclaim, and has spread even against the pressures and red tape of cynics in traditional western medicine only due to a placebo effect, is to accuse those who visit such practitioners of wasting their hard-earned money on a placebo that somehow only manifests by sticking pins into their skin, but yet cannot manifest if you go to see a regular doctor or make a change in diet. By means of critical reasoning, your arguement is completely absurd.
How is it absurd? Fake accupuncture works just as well as real accupuncture.
From that, I argue that it is not good proof of chi energy. that is all. I don't say that relief is not real or that chi is not real. It is simply not good evidence.
if you are allergic to painkillers, then placebo is definitely superior to medicine. however, you do not need to go to an expensive expert. a fake accupuncturist or even hypnotist can provide the same relief. if I were a responsible doctor, i would tell a patient to do anything that provides relief, even if it is placebo.
When I see a video, which was recorded in the 70's like that, long before the era of digital photography enhancements or editing, where a man is setting paper on fire with his chi, or bending iron rods with their eyeballs, skepticism isn't the first thing I have in mind. Moreover, when you take an Aussie, put him in China, and he actually starts staring off in the distance as if he were in a coma because the monks are lifting more with their penises than he can with his massive arms, where is there room for skepticism?
skepticism or not-skepticism, that is irrelevant to good testing. if you have a rigorous test, it doesn't matter. If I were really skeptic, I would say "don't bother testing because they are fakes" But actually I want to believe them so I say that they should be tested. There is no reason not to. I suspect that people who discourage this testing are actually the real skeptics. They are afraid that they will fail somehow.
I already explained how the whole thing is a scam and the motivations behind it. I already said, the way they got the paper lit is by using a magnifying glass, the paper would have had some type of gunpowder rubbed in it, making it much easier to light with a magnifying glass. The people who got electric shocks from the man is very simple, he either had a battery hidden down his pants while wearing rubber sneakers, if people touch him, ofcourse they would go, "wow whats that", "oh thats chi". It is all a scam and a lie, do not be decieved.

More testing, fine, no problem. Didn't you see him drag a group of aristrocrat-level scientists there to check this guy out? That looked pretty rigorous to me, and of those mentioned:
Catherine Cook - Former director of the Mind Science Foundation
"Former Mind Science Executive Director, Catherine Cooke, deserves credit for initiating this important MSF research project," added Dial. Ms. Cooke is currently the CEO of the Mountain Institute in Washington, D.C."
Roger Nilson - Swedish medic and international racing sailor
"Early this morning the Swedish Volvo Ocean Race entry SEB, skippered by Gunnar Krantz, was the first yacht to round the leg two waypoint of Eclipse Island, three miles off Albany at Australia’s southwest tip......
.....Someone of my size could do with a lot more to eat than just soup and water. Roger has been a great counsellor as well as a doctor, he helped me when I was beating myself up about missing watches."
Gregory Simpson - Physicist at Albert Einstein University, New York
"Simpson Gregory Dynamic Brain Activity Imaging Lab., Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx USA" Re:

I'm looking point blank at the guy's hand, where is the magnifying glass? and how would the sun reach it considering the wall is behind him, and the place where the sun would be would need to be somewhere in the general direction of where the camera was facing directly at him? (couldn't be from above, because the man's hand would be blocking it) Notice as the man stands up, his hand and fingers are loosely spread, he's not holding anything in his hands or between his fingers. So when you say 'they' what you're suggesting is that you don't trust the scientists or the people in the general area. Basicly that they emitted some kind of ray from a distance at the immediate time that he had his hand placed over the paper.
The people who got electric shocks from the man is very simple, he either had a battery hidden down his pants while wearing rubber sneakers, if people touch him, ofcourse they would go, "wow whats that", "oh thats chi". It is all a scam and a lie, do not be decieved.
Lets assume he had a battery down his pants, considering the man wasn't even wearing any pants.... So, what was the battery made of if the metal detector they used couldn't pick up on it? Potatoe battery shoved up his scrotum? Even a potatoe battery would require some kind of metal fixture to act as a conductor. And if he was wearing rubber sneakers to generate an electric shock, then why is Dr. Nilson standing there with his hand obviously placed on the man's abdomen for no less than 3 WHOLE SECONDS before the shock arrives??? (immediately as you can see the man slightly bulge his abdomen outward). A simple electric shock arrives immediately on contact, not delayed for a few seconds.

I saw a bunch of people do some examinations but no controlled tests. It should not matter who does the tests, only that the tests are rigorous.
Re:

I don't see such a magnifying glass either.

It could be a scam and a lie, but the best way to show that is to test it. If you believe it is fake, you should test it; if you believe it is real, you should test it.
There is no reason not to.
Here, randi exposes a fake

Whether you believe in chi or not, this is good for everyone because he has exposed a faker who profits off it.
I don't see such a magnifying glass either.
derrr ofcourse they won't have the magnifying glass on camera, the magnifying glass is at a distance magnifying on the paper.

Comon kamebazooka, you know what the people here are like, they probably agree with James that there is probably static electricity or the plastic blocks the chi, the people here, many of them their brains are still in diapers, never have grown up.
ATA, what they are saying is there is no Magnafying glass whatsoever to BURN the PAPER, it would take a good time to BLAZE up that paper with a magnafying glass, although the paper does seem to come alite very quiclky like it had some gun powder but this is just speculating..
This CHI master should really go to RANDI and win that money so he can use it to help others or whatever his motives with money would be, why do these people with SPECIAL powers hide and not let the world have PROOF of such power ?
It could be one does not want to show this GREAT power to the wrong people or they will be after him for more testing etc, they just want to live a normal life without been a LAB RAT..
just my opinion on both sides...

LOL.. thats so funny, there was no need for experts to decide this guy was a fake - Why would he make a fool of himself this way.. LOL
Why put a pencil at the edge of the table where it could move so so easily and why put the book at its side with the pages facing him where he could just BLOW the pages ? LOL Was this guy really expecting everyone to beleive he had POWERS to move objects with his mind.. The only thing he moved was his ass back home.
RANDI kicked ass..
