Peak Everything
Peak Everything http://www.financialsense.com/Experts/2007/Heinberg.html Very good mp3 recorded this weekend, further confirms my belief about the world in the future which is quickly approaching. You must begin to prepare, you must become a Christian like me. I have already prepared, I have my gold and silver and also shares in gold mining companies. You must prepare, you must if you want to survive atleast in a somewhat comfortable manner. As I said this confirms what I believed, the only thing that is not peaked yet is the money supply and that is generating inflation because we can not increase production of any natural resources, we have hit a peak. Also he predicts a dieoff when the world's population reaches about 7 billion and will then drop down to 1-2 billion. He is very intelligent although I don't know if he is Christian or not, if I knew he was Christian I would more highly recommend it.

Why do you think gold and silver will help you in a catastrophe more than food or land? gold and silver have a little bit of industrial use, but otherwise they are heavy and bulky. in a total collapse, even mining companies cannot operate, so gold mining shares will be worthless. here i will make you a bet -- if you invest in flashlights and generators, you will be much more comfortable in a total world collapse than if you buy up equivalent gold. what use is gold and silver in the katrina floods? not much. i agree that in short term, gold and silver could possibly be good investments, but if that is the case, you have to say when exactly to buy and when exactly to sell. If you cannot commit to saying when to buy and sell, it is almost meaningless advice.

Gold is a store of value, it does not rust or tarnish, it has proven to be very good money for thousands of years. Yeah depends how much food you can store without it spoiling, a bulk buy of white rice may be the go, can last upto 20 years in good storage, but the hope is some form of society will be left and most likely you will beable to trade your gold for items. If your the last one left on earth, gold is pretty useless, food would be the best to store up on, but as I said before it spoils, it does not have infinate value life storage like gold has.

I ask you again: when to buy and when to sell? There are many people who believe in the value of gold -- they say when to buy and when to sell in the form of contracts. If they are correct, they will beat the overall market. If they are wrong, they will lose money relative to the market. For example, if you said to buy GLD at Nov. 2004 and sold now, you would beat the SPY (S&P500) by almost 2:1. (60% vs 30% gain) However, over the long term, if you said to buy gold, people who listened to you would be worse off than if they bought into the general market: So I ask again: when to buy, when to sell? Give a time-range, if you cannot pick an exact date.

I don't have a sell date, just a buy date which is now. From my sources these gold booms always end in a market mania like in 1980 when it peaked at $850, people were lined up outside coin shops to buy gold. http://www.financialsense.com/ Go there, there is lots of gold articals, infact there's afew new gold articals everyday at that. http://www.jsmineset.com/ This also is a very good site. www.safehaven.com it's good too but not as gold centric.

in a total collapse, even mining companies cannot operate, so gold mining shares will be worthless. Not to mention he's Christian but hoards gold in the transient world. I agree with some of what's being said, there is a certain crisis and the US dollar might have been overissued. But the fact is the world is doing better than ever, have you considered how past generations have lived, in conditions of dismal poverty and disease. Now you can get a 1GB flash drive for 20 €. And I would rather lose everything and go to zero and then make it back, instead of listening to this dumbassery and reading these moron books
