Omega3 seems to cure alot of diseases.
The current issue of the journal Nutrition and Cancer contains an interesting case study of a lung cancer patient whose cancer has almost disappeared after dietary intervention with omega-3 fatty acids. The study was not based on a clinical trial; rather, the treatment came about by chance. The patient, identified as D.H., was in fact a neighbor of researcher Ron Pardini, a professor of biochemistry at the University of Nevada. http://www.scienceagogo.com/news/20051010003544data_trunc_sys.shtml Half were treated with capsules of fish oil, a rich source of omega-3 fats for three months, while the rest took a fishy-tasting dummy substitute. One year on, three per cent of those who had taken fish oil supplements had developed schizophrenia. This compared with 28 per cent of those who had swallowed the placebo. Previous studies have suggested that anti-psychotic drugs when used early in illness reduce the rate to about 12 per cent. However, their use is controversial as they have severe side-effects like heavy weight gain and increased risk of heart disease. "What we have here, it seems, is a very good and non-invasive alternative that could be safely used on at-risk people where only a proportion were ever going to develop the condition," said Prof Amminger, who will present the findings at the World Psychiatry Association (WPA) Conference. It has now been proven scientifically that Omega-3 fish oil helps you lose weight. Studies at the University of South Australia have found that taking omega-3 fish oil combined with moderate aerobic exercise boosts weight loss. Over a period of 12 weeks, researchers gave a group of obese adult’s daily doses of omega-3 fish oil and supervised moderate aerobic exercise three times a week. The researches compared the results of this group with other groups that were not given omega-3 fish oil and exercise three times a week. The group that had the omega-3 fish oil lost significantly more weight, particularly around the abdominal region, than the people who had not been given the omega-3 fish oil and exercise. They concluded that Omega-3 fatty acids in the fish oil activates the enzymes responsible for burning fat, and combined with exercise and increased oxygen intake, they increase the metabolic rate, which has an effect of burning more fat and losing weight. On September 8, 2004, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration gave "qualified health claim" status to eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) ω−3 fatty acids, stating that "supportive but not conclusive research shows that consumption of EPA and DHA ω−3 fatty acids may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease."<2> This updated and modified their health risk advice letter of 2001 (see below). People with certain circulatory problems, such as varicose veins, benefit from fish oil. Fish oil stimulates blood circulation, increases the breakdown of fibrin, a compound involved in clot and scar formation, and it lowers the blood pressure.<3><4> There is strong scientific evidence, that ω−3 fatty acids significantly reduce blood triglyceride levels<5><6><7><8> and regular intake reduces the risk of secondary and primary heart attack.<9><10><11><12> Some benefits have been reported in such conditions as rheumatoid arthritis<13><14> and cardiac arrhythmias.<15><16><17> There is a promising preliminary evidence, that ω−3 fatty acids supplementation might be helpful in cases of depression<18><19> and anxiety.<20><21> There are studies reporting highly significant improvement.<22> Some research suggests that fish oil intake reduces the risk of ischemic and thrombotic stroke.<23><24><25> However, very large amounts may actually increase the risk of hemorrhagic stroke (see below). Lower amounts are not related to this risk.<26> 3 grams of total EPA/DHA daily are considered safe with no increased risk of bleeding involved<27> and many studies used substantially higher doses without major side effects (for example: 4.4 grams EPA/2.2 grams DHA in 2003 study).<28> If you eat alot of fried foods, I suggest you switch your cooking oil to something like codliver oil, you will get alot of omega3 fats from that. I have been drinking codliver oil for over a year, I am able to drink it straight, I like the taste of it, many people can not stand it, but my mother used to give it too me as a child and I learn't to like it. So again, I highly recommend you to use fish oils as per the above studies.

No shit Sherlock  And what do you think I meant by spending money on homeopathic medicines for my youngest child who is suspected ADD? Yep, he has 5ml of Eye Q Fish Oil with Evening Primrose Oil. He has been on it for just over two weeks and yes, we are already seeing a difference in his behaviour. He also has Bach Rescue Remedy twice a day :P But wait, won't I be evil if I continue to spend money on my children to make them healthy instead of giving it to you poxy christain charity? Anwser me this: CAN YOU LIFT HEAVY THINGS????

You don't give ALL your money to charity, you give what you can afford and also reflect back and see if there is anything you can cut back on if you don't have enough money to donate. Please, lets give these children a good christmas, if you think your going to be immortal, then I tell you, you are unworthy if you do not donate and help these starving children, it does not cost much, I am only looking for about $20 each. I will also note that I have heard reports from some people that plum sauce is very good for you.

Comrade Roxanne, I have recently dumped all of the content from NaturalCures.com (with help from GodSon and his membership to the website). Here is the ADD/ADHD file (it may prove useful): Diet: The most common dietary triggers of ADHD/ADD and hyperactivity are commercially processed foods that are high in sugars and artificial sweeteners, food additives and chemical preservatives. Another important factor is caffeine, which is found not only in colas, but also in many other types of sodas and bottled drinks, as well as chocolate products. Ironically, many school lunch programs across the country regularly provide school children with foods laced with caffeine, and with sugar. Moreover, many schools also earn revenues through affiliations with soda and candy manufacturers, by allowing the sale of soda and candies on site via vending machines. Foods high in salicylates, which are natural chemical substances found in foods such as apples, berries, almonds, oranges, and tomatoes, can also cause hyperactivity. Consider a rotation or elimination diet, removing these foods from the diet for 1-4 weeks while paying attention to behavioral changes or improvements in behavior. Nutrition: One of the most common deficiencies in children and teenagers who are hyperactive and/or diagnosed with ADHD/ADD, is a lack of essential fatty acids (EFAs), which are healthy unsaturated fats that are necessary for proper brain function. Rather than relying on dangerous medications like Ritalin and Adderal to treat ADHD/ADD and hyperactivity, holistic health practitioners are able to achieve long- lasting results using a variety of natural cures. Among them are the following: Ayurveda: In addition to eating a healthy diet free of all sugars, Ayurvedic physicians encourage parents to provide a more nurturing, supportive home environment for their children, along with the use of Ayurvedic herbs, such as ashwagandha and Macuna prurens. Chelation Therapy/Heavy Metal Toxicity: Since heavy metal toxicity is very common among children, teens and adults considered to be hyperactive or diagnosed with ADHD/ADD, reducing the toxic load on the body is often an essential step in reversing such conditions. There are several ways to achieve lowering heavy metal loads; the most effective means of accomplishing this is chelation therapy, a procedure that chelates (pulls) heavy metals and binds them so that the body can more readily eliminate them. Chelation therapy can be performed intravenously, as well as orally. Typically, 20 to 30 IV chelations are performed over a period of three to six months, after which supplementing with oral chelation nutrients is advised. For best results, attention is also given to any other underlying causative factors, such as poor diet and nutritional imbalances. For more information about chelation therapy, see the Glossary. Another important step in managing the daily onslaught of heavy metal toxicity is daily supplementation. Recommended daily supplements include natural cellular defense made from a tinctured form of zeolite clay, and Chlorella; both are effective oral chelators. More information on zeolite can be found at www.lifedrops.info. Diet: Avoid all sugars, wheat products and refined carbohydrates, sodas, processed foods, preservatives, artificial sweeteners, especially aspartame, though all man-made, chemically derived products are potentially aggravating in the case of ADHD. Also, do not consume corn syrup, alcohol, white bread and white flour products such as pastries, and other commercially-baked goods, or toxic oils such as hydrogenated and trans-fatty oils. Avoid inorganic milk and other dairy products, especially if hydrogenated. Minimize or eliminate beans, corn, cabbage, eggs, garlic, onions, soy and soy products, as well as foods that you react to or are allergic to. Foods high in salicylates such as apples, almonds, oranges, peppers, and tomatoes, should also be avoided or eaten on rare occasions, especially while figuring out the maze of what to eat and not eat while working with resolving symptoms of ADHD. For a more detailed overview of a healthy diet, read the Natural Cures Healing Food Plan, and for specific questions, write to healingfoods@agmail.com. Drink plenty of pure, filtered water throughout the day, and emphasize organic fresh fruits and vegetables, organic grains such as amaranth and quinoa, and organic free-range meats, poultry, and wild-caught fish. Herbs: Chamomile, linden flower, milk thistle, and red clover can all help relieve symptoms of hyperactivity associated with ADHD/ADD. Chamomile and linden flower help to promote calm and soothe the nervous system, while milk thistle and red clover help to detoxify the body due to how they support liver function. Hydrotherapy: The use of contrast hot and cold baths can help to relieve physiological stress and promote calm. Nutritional Supplements: Useful nutrients for symptoms of ADHD/ADD include vitamin B-complex, vitamin B3, vitamin B6, folic acid, essential fatty acids (EFAs), omega-3 oils, digestive enzymes, and probiotic supplements such as acidophilus and bifidus bacterium, as well as the chelating supplements, natural cellular defense and chlorella. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM): Practitioners of TCM recommend that hyperactive children and teenagers, as well as anyone diagnosed with ADHD/ADD, follow a diet that is rich in complex carbohydrates, and free of all sugars and simple carbohydrates. The Chinese herbs biota seed, schisandra berries, and zizyphus seed are also helpful to promote calm and relaxation.
