TwistinUnderSchizophrenia- 09-28-2007
I haven't in recent years, but I use to have OBEs all the time in my teens. I've never astrally projected though.

a What is the difference between an obe and an astral travel
marcoagpinto- 09-28-2007
Franco!!!
I have had THOUSANDS of experiences outside my physical body during sleep in the past 10 years or so :-)
I have seen lots of strange entities during them.
Most entities had the shape of humanoid birds, but I have seen lots of human forms too.
I tried to get knowledge from the experiences but the gain was little and most of the entities were evil, doing things to my body causing lots of pain.
Kind regards,
>Marco

Tried a few times but when it almost happens i am too excited so nothing further happens, i must learn to calm down and let my body be totally relaxed and not too excited - then i can go to the moon..

i agree with Marco Pinto, many entities outside are evil , others are curious , and others are just neutral.
There is no difference beetween obe and astral travel.
Evil entities try to severe the cord from the body, causin pain in the phisycal body, normally , you are back in your body instantly when this happen.

It is said in the Gnosis of Samael Aun Weor, that in the astral plane exist thought forms which exist existentially from us but are in fact our own egos. I've seen some claim to see them as birds. Our ego saps the life from us.
There exist also astral parasites, black magicians, witches, vampires, zombies, and all sorts of evil which either want to take energy from you, or throw you off the path of genuine religion, awakening and self-realization.
If you have an astral experience, from what I've heard, one of the first and best things to do, is to ask God, your own inner being who is in heaven (not the ego) to take you to his temple to speak with him. One has to be careful though, as you could by way of your own ego end up in an evil place full of debauchery.
And so, alot of precautions for protection are given in the books, for when someone astrally travels or is awake in the physical world. As you could be unaware that astral things are harming you while you're not sleeping also. An example would be invoking the power of christ, or the invocation of jupiter, as demons cannot tolerate these forces. The conjurations of solomon etc.
This lecture may be helpful. This course, or this book (in mp3 format).

Can any of you practice to control your OBE?
If you can do so, you can see inside a locked box, and win the million dollar randi challenge. I think this is worth trying.
I myself have only had 3 OBEs and there was no way to distinguish them from an intense dream. I seemed to be traveling to another galaxy, but also shrinking down to subatomic levels at exactly the same time, so that atoms became planets of this other galaxy. There were no spirits per se, unless you count the weird atom/planets that pulled with their gravity.
In fact, I have no way to prove to you that it wasn't just an intense dream. Actually now that I think about it, it may simply be intense dreams or hallucinations. How do you guys tell if it is an OBE or just a very intense vision?

It is said that while the body sleeps, the astral body leaves the physical body, and the subconsciousness&ego projects it's imaginings which we then experience as dreams. Dreams not unlike fantasies. Some dreams are given to us by divnity, the inner diving being, and their symbols communicate something important.
If someone were to awaken while dreaming, this is a lucid dream and the dream itself can be controlled consciously (we consciously control the fantasy and function in it the way we would in the physical world)
But then there is lucid dreaming in which the person has stopped dreaming altogether, and stopped fantasizing completely so that they're not experiencing the projections of the ego, but are in fact experiencing the realities of the astral plane. This is reality and is not a dream.
The "OBE" you had was probably experiences in the astral world, experiencing realities beyond yourself, while in a state of subconscious dreaming and internal slumber.
As an analogy, you would have to refer to what goes on during waking life.
Do you daydream while you're awake? And yet you experience the reality of life, correct?
This is the best way I would know of to explain, to the best of my understanding. I myself have only had one lucid dream, and experienced a minute fraction of reality, being that I was still very infraconscious, and yet I was controlling the dream.

Re:

You can tell the difference between daydream and reality because reality persists after the daydream is over (for example, you write words on a sheet of paper in a daydream and in reality -- the daydream paper disappears while the real paper stays). Of course you can never be 100% sure that reality is not a very long daydream but that is a different problem.
But for OBE, astral projection, and dreaming, all three do not typically leave evidence, so how can you be sure it is all simply the same phenomenon of dreaming or visions?
I think one way to be sure is to project yourself into a locked room, revealing the contents of hidden objects (say someone writes a series of numbers and locks it in a box). Then when you awaken, you can recite the numbers and that will show that it was not just a mere dream but a true OBE or projection into another dimension. (In 4-dimensions, 3D barriers are meaningless.)
Has anyone had an experience such as that?

I read astral dynamics by robert bruce and almost had one, had some weird vibrations, but I quit trying seems interesting though.According to his book there is a difference between the astral and just exiting your body. The astral is very complex having planes and subplanes, higher and lower realms most OBE'ers he says just find themselves outside of their body next to their house or right inside their room.Kambezooka that is possible, but most people inexperienced in OBE's have trouble remembering everything,Robert says to do it as quick as you can so you remember everything and tape a card on your window etc.

I managed to be slightly conscious two times in my astral body, but my vision was very blurry.
Does anyone have enough knowledge to explain this?

Ivan!!
my vision gets blurry sometimes in this kind of experiences...
I use a trick: I attempt to clean my eyes with my hands during the experiences, and sometimes I close my eyes for a few seconds and then open them again.
This solves part of the blurry problem, but I still haven't managed to fix it all
Kind regards from Marco
