jc you are right on track. Mayan had a perpetual, recursive calendar, they stopped at 2012 ( the date has been converted into roman calendar which we used today ) , just becasue they thought it was enough far away in time for their use. Its like as someone of us would print calendar up to 3046 , what's the use ? Mayans had a great knowledge in astronomy , their calendar were based on stars, that's why they had that kind of recursive mathemathics to compute the flowing of days. 2012 is another sick way to milk money
