NEW : GRAPHICAL (and more advanced) HEXAGRAM GENERATORhello everyone,
I started studying the super i ching rules some 6 weeks ago. But after a few days "I rewarded myself with a six strike", which means I decided to quit studying the rules because my memory is way too bad for this kind of stuff.
But after "quitting i ching school" so soon, i suddenly realised that - maybe - i would be able to create a memory-assisting-tool in the form of a graphical i ching generator. Then it would be possible to view immediately which lines are bounding, striking, repelling, producing, killing, forming combo's, etc...etc...
Yesterday i finished the first prototype of this graphical i ching generator. You can find the result here :
http://superiching.angelfire.com/graphical_i_ching_generator.htm
ATTENTION ! I am NOT an experienced I Ching master like Alex Chiu, and NEITHER a professional softwareprogrammer. God gifted me with a very bad memory, so that i would have no other option in my life than to create memory-assisting-tools. I want to be very clear about this : INEVITABLY there will be bugs, errors and mistakes in this graphical I Ching generator. When you find a bug or a misinterpretation of the I Ching rules, or completely irrelevant things, or maybe some browser-incompatibilities, please report it to me (e-mail : paul.dons@pandora.be ) so that I can remove the mistakes as quick as possible. Many thanks in advance for all useful feedback. Meanwhile i'm hoping that this first prototype of a graphical I Ching generator may already help you in decoding the hexagrams better then before.
By the way : Of course it is not possible to replace the huge knowledge, wisdom, experience and intuition of a real i ching master by an electronic i ching guide. This goes way beyond the capabilities of software-programmers. However, this undeniable fact does not prevent anyone from seeking other memory-assisting-tools, which can always help to some extent. So, if you should have made another tool or a set of guidelines by yourself, why not sharing it with the others on this forum ?
Best greetings,
Paul Dons (Belgium).
