Juice Fasting
Does anyone here have a simple, inexpensive way of doing a juice fast ? I don't want to have to buy some book that I'll only read once and then it sits on a shelf collecting dust.
Is it as simple as, say, taking organic oranges, for instance, and juicing enough to fill an 8oz. glass and drinking one of those every hour for 8 hrs ?..........and lots of water in between, during the day, of course.
This seems extremely inexpensive for those of us always struggling with money issues constantly and not having the funds to do other cleanses or buy supplements to help us get well and feel better, plus it seems very easy and I've read different places online that a juice fast is the quickest and easiest way to detox the whole body and cures pretty much all diseases, viruses, fungai, etc. along with it being a great weight loss aid as an added bonus :D
Of course, when something seems too good to be true, it usually is :(

Hi TAMI.. dont know if this helps, but i have a JUICER machine, pretty much can make any JUICE FAST, Carrot JUICE, TOMATO JUICE, KIWI JUICE, ORANGE JUICE, MANGO JUICE.. You can MIX different type of FRUITS also - ALL GOOD FOR YOU.
Buying a JUICER MACHINE is worth it and makes juice FAST.. :wink:

Yes, a Juicer is one thing I would have to purchase !! I think I'll just start out with a Juice Man, I think it's called......not that expensive, I don't think. I haven't done any looking around yet for one, I was wanting to find out first what all is entailed in a Juice Fast......if it was just juicing and drinking it once every hour for 8 hrs. and the rest of the time drink water, or what :?
Do you know anything about Juice Fasting, jc ? Is it just juicing and nothing else besides water ? I read on a natural cure site (damn, I can't remember the name of it right off-hand) where a man who had some sort of liver disorder......maybe scirosis (sp?) or cancer ????.......and he did an Orange Juice Fast designed by some well-known Dr., that had been supressed since the early days, and ended up in perfect health and also losing 100 lbs. !!! I think he did the fast for like 40 or 50 days or so ???.......something like that......

I do serious water fasting occasionally. I call it "flying the white flag of super-fasting".
That as opposed to "flying the black flag of gluttony," which is the other element of the same health pillar
Wow ! Do you do the water fasting for cleansing or weight loss.....or maybe both ?
If it's not too much to ask, could you explain how you do the water fast ? That sounds a lot cheaper than the juice fast......I mean, you don't need a juicer and you don't have to look around for organic fruit and one usually always has water on hand, right ?

Yes, a water fast is simpler and stronger, but it's also more dangerous
potentially more uncomfortable, and trickier in some ways.
The positive effects are:
- destroying fat
- cleaning out blood vessels
- cleansing lymph nodes and colon, removing cancer
- rejuvenation
- and very importantly: strong psychological and spiritual effects
as a result of general detoxification.
That's why major religions incorporate some type of fasting
It's said that Jesus (a.s.w.s.) water-fasted for weeks. And Muhammad (a.s.w.s.) said: "The breath of the observer of fast is sweeter to Allah than the fragrance of musk."
You start your superfast by simply stopping intake of all food and drink other than water,
and you note the time so you'd know how deep you are into it (how many hours).
Then, as time passes your hunger builds up and starts to achieve all these nice results.
But often the energy will get stuck. For example, you can have a person that is BOTH hungry AND fat, that means the charge is stuck.
Because: if hunger has the ability to break down fat, there is no reason for a fat person to be hungry.
Those two (fat and hunger) should neutralize out if nothing is standing between them.
So in order to avoid having the hunger "stuck" while fasting
one can do a number of things to get it un-stuck, such as:
- laying down and stretching your muscles (it feels different during a fast)
Anyway, after you feel you've achieved the results you wanted, you stop the fast and raise the black flag of gluttony again.
You then enter a period of recovery. The quick rule is that you need 2 times as long to recover. If you water-fasted for 1 day, you need 2 days to "recover".
That doesn't mean you're incapacitated or anything (you'll feel very well)
but you just don't feel the same as you would on a normal day until the recovery period expires.
As for the risk disclosure:
The dangers and discomforts of water-fasting are related to
what I said above about the "stomach acid charge" getting "stuck".
That creates an unpleasant feeling of hunger, and also it can destroy healthy cells while leaving unhealthy ones intact because it has no access to them.
That is the "discomfort" part, and it can be avoided through different steps like the stretching I mentioned above.
And the "dangerous" part has to do with electrolyte imbalances: if you rinse your blood away too fast, it can kill you. That's why one has to be careful with drinking lots of water after the water-fast has advanced past 20 or 24 hours.
It also depends on what you do, if you have strenuous activity, it's more dangerous.
I read that some soldiers or troopers died during a difficult training march because they drank too much water. They weren't even fasting, but too much water destroyed their blood electrolytes due to their physical activity.
Take some fruit, it's better that complete fast for many reasons.
