There have been experiments in which laser have been beamed through DNA and destroyed it.
When the laser was again beamed through the same place, even though the DNA had been observed destroyed, readings recived from the laser said that the DNA was still there.
Why?
Because only the physcail aspect of the DNA has been destroyed, the what some would call etheric DNA remained.
Supposedly nuclear explosion can rip apart the etheric body of the soul and incinerate it's DNA, making the soul quite mortal.
Etheric scaring can occur which is why people can be born deformed, handicapped etc...

Well on the physical level it is because the brain likes certain sets. We make sets. When you break a set there is a gap. That is why we always attemt to replace a set whern it is disrupted. But of course matter like the brain is rooted in the unified field. But on the material level it is because of "sets".
There is a simpler explanation. If you were happy when your child dies, you would go around killing your own kids to be happy. That's a pretty surefire way not to survive to next generation.

I can believe that when we dye a kind of etheric/electromagnetic counterpart of our mind can survive for some days, but this is different from postulating a soul who reincarnates from a body to another or who "lives" forever in "heaven". I am sure mind/soul is produced by our brain, it is produced by our body for the first time NOW. We didn't exist before birth, before our body. And this is evident, because our mind and personality grow and change as our brain and body grow and change. And if you get a damage to your brain, your mind/soul also changes and get damaged.
Face the facts guys. This universe is intelligent. What we call "you" is part of that intelligence but also the matter or your brain and the energy you contain. So your going to have to trust me on this. When you blow your brains out there is no more "you"...."You" are no more. Without functional brain matter and energy there is no "you". There is the unified field of consciousness which you are part of. That continues. But "you" are gone. Back to the same state before you were conseived.
