I think the soul is mortal too.
Christians say if you die, you become immortal soul. I don't think it's true. I think the soul is mortal. For example, let's say you are a new species of an animal. There are not many of you left. So you must keep reproducing in order to have as many offsprings as possible. I think the reason for this is the soul is actually mortal. It has a life span of its own. If you cannot reincarnate within a certain period of time, your soul could die. That's why your job is to find a superior mate and mate with her. The only purpose is when your body dies, your soul can seek refuge in a newer more superior body. If you don't produce offsprings, your soul might not have a place to seek refuge. Then something bad will happen to your soul?

I don't even think there is "soul" without a brain. Soul is produced by brain, when brain stops working our soul disappears. That's all.

Remember everything happens for a reason. Birds eat because they need nutrients. But birds don't know that because they don't go to school. But they still do it. Because there is a reason for eating. People produce offsprings for a reason. People say its because they like kids or because they want people around them when they become old. But guess what? Birds and bugs produce offsprings too. So do they also want company when they get old? Not true. Birds would nurse their chicks for only a very short time. They would fly away and never to return to their parents. So why do the birds want offsprings? I think its because of the soul reincarnation issue. Yes they eat but they don't know why they must eat. Yes birds want offsprings but they don't know why they need to have offsprings. In fact, I think humans don't even know why they must have kids. I don't think the real reason is they want company when they get old. I think it's more than that.

birds, humans, animals make offspring because of DNA wants it. Do you DNA, Alex? :) DNA make us like sex and like offsprings, because organisms that don't like that couldn't survive and reproduce and so their "no-offspring" DNA disappeared from earth. Why search for other reasons when we know already the right one?

Yeah but what is the REASON that DNA needs to make us produce offsprings? WHAT IS THE REASON? Remember everything has a reason. What's the reason why you like pretty girls and not fat ass ugly ones? Why?

I told you it. Only DNA that needs to reproduce itself can SURVIVE. Other kind of DNA simply cannot survive, cannot exist, so if we are here it's because the only kind of organism that can survive it's a kind which reproduce itself. Do you grasp what I mean?

MOlecules, life, DNA tried to become immortal i one organism forever, building a cell around itself. But this has not been enough, because at some point cell's mechanism becomes to fail, due to aging ans such. So cells whom DNA BY CHANCE evolved to say "split and reproduce" could extend the organism in the enviroment.

Are you guys stupid or simply don't understand what I was asking? I asked why do we need to reproduce. Franco's answer still doesn't answer. He said because DNA wants to reproduce. That doesn't satisfy the question 'what's the reason for reproducing.' If somebody asks why do woman and man make love. And Franco would simply say because their sex drives force them to make love. Dammit I asked 'What is the reason'!!! And why are we or any species afraid of extinction? If a species goes extinct, what will happen? Why would the species care? There must be a mystery behind all this.

I am not stupid, I am pure perfection. Life reproduces so it can continue to exist. Now that you have invented immortality, perhaps evolution will make it so we don't have to reproduce anymore, since we will still continue to exist. Maybe our sex organs will go away through evolution since they are no longer needed.

ALEX, no one knows the reason, the meaning of life.. We continue to reproduce and keep reproducing to keep the planet alive, if all things were dead the planet will die. Some animal species are dead yes but it does not effect us so much, do you know what would happen if all living things were extinc ? THE PLANET WILL DIE because as i say > EVERYTHING HAS ITS REASON TO BE HERE. The already extinct was meant to be.
