I don't mean to say that at0 himself must idolize gold. However, at0 certainly traffics in it. I am no expert in bible verse, but if you take such a verse to permit trafficking in idol-material, why not permit traffic of marijuana in such countries where it is legal? In fact, I don't recall any admonition against marijuana in the bible, though there are many against false idols such as golden calves, graven images such as those on golden coins, etc... So you could say that the bible is more lenient towards marijuana than to gold. Can you think of a substance that is more idolized than gold? I suspect because of its color, that gold has universally become associated with the sun, and so gold naturally becomes part of sun-god worship, then becomes a popular ingredient of any sort of idol. Other substances such as silver might come close, but it seems to me gold is #1 in idolatry.
Actually I must take that back -- at0 seems so unusually attached to gold that perhaps he does actually idolize it, perhaps subconsciously. Is there really so much difference between the above idols and these bars of gold. If you look at them, they even appear to be engraved with 66.66, a satanic sign if there ever was one. (I'm kidding, but by at0's logic, that is certainly a troublesome sign.)
