Gorgeouspil will fund teleportation and resurrection I am going to sell Gorgeouspil to the entire world, make people prettier everyday, and fund teleportation and resurrection with the money.
When your friend and neighbor are getting prettier, they force you to catch up with them. That means everybody must constantly take Gorgeouspil. Make me super rich. Then I will use the money to fund teleportation and resurrection.

What you think about my theory on teleportation based on monoatomic gold?
Jotun- 02-20-2007
ATA0, I'm glad to see you thinking at least a touch scientifically amidst your barrages of bible verses.
And Alex, even though that "Make me super rich" is just leaping out at me to be quoted by itself, I'll take the noble path and first ask why you want to create teleportation and resurrection.
You've already stated you created GorgeousPil because you love a stripper who despises you and you wish to make her reciprocate the feeling, so I can only assume resurrection and teleportation are inspired by your own needs. What are those needs?

I think he is driven primarily by two things:
1) fear of death,
2) a profound and deep-rooted need to feel wanted and appreciated, and to show people that he is a worthwhile human being and has contributed something to the world that everyone will love him for.
I think the money angle is really a by-product of point #2-- i.e. he uses money as a surrogate for meaningful relationships and as leverage for obtaining respect from the outside world.

cereal plz answer just one thing. Why are you here on these boards???
If alex chiu is not the man he says he is there is absolutely nothing here to stop you from not coming here... All you do is ridicule alex and his products. you even say you tried it and felt nothing...that would be reason enough for me not to come here and take ist in as crap.. What is it that you feel the need to come here at all????You seem to be quiet the psychologist but what your doing here makes no sense at all so your really just contradicting your self

If Cereal doesn't believe in immortality/resurrection, than I have absolutely no idea what he's trying to achieve with his talk.
He says he's trying to save old women from spending money on products that don't work.
So you save them, and then they die anyway - good job.

They would still die either way.

If CR thinks everyone's gonna be dead forever, there is no point in his activism, see?

If CR thinks everyone's gonna be dead forever, there is no point in his activism, see?
So, since we're all gonna die, we shouldn't give a shit about anybody?
Jaguar b. p.- 02-21-2007
If you believe everyone's gonna be dead forever, there's no meaning or purpose to your existance so you might as well kill yourself immediately since the outcome is going to be the same regardless.
Me, I believe in immortality and raising the dead so I see purpose
which is eternal bliss which beats eternal death any day
In fact if you use positive numbers to describe pleasure
the higher the number the more pleasurable i.e. +1, +2, +3, +4, etc. forever
and you use negative numbers to describe suffering
the higher the number the more intense i.e. -1, -2, -3, -4, etc. forever
then death would be zero -- totally neutral with nothing happening to you.
So death is better than agony, but worse than pleasure
The thing is, if you believe you're gonna be dead forever, that in itself is a negative experience, i.e. worse than death.
There is absolutely no sense at all to a finite existence. I'm really sorry that morons don't understand this fact.

But your 'argument' presupposes that 1) death is necessarily neutral, and 2) that death is worse than life (these concepts may be irreconcilable, actually). Regardless, that is a very big assumption, and only a myopic person would believe these metrics without any real evidence. Clearly, your judgement is based on a perceived value system, pieced together from conditioned thoughts (i.e. 'death is bad' 'death is worse than life', 'it is better to be alive than dead').
There is no reason to believe these 'facts' on any objective level, and frankly, there is nothing moronic about disagreeing with what you just said.
Jaguar b. p.- 02-21-2007
No, look. When you're dead, nothing is happening to you. That's good insofar as you can't be touched by any suffering.
That's why a lot of people that feel really bad want to kill themselves
So being dead is good in that it keeps you from agony.
But there's 1 thing better than being dead, and that's: being alive while having a good time.
So the wish list is as follows, ranked from most desirable to least desirable:
1. being alive while enjoying yourself
2. being dead
3. being alive while enduring pain
Incidentally, that is why death is perceived as a bad thing, i.e. "he died, bad for him."
That means he could have theoretically been alive while having fun (see number 1)
TwistinUnderSchizophrenia- 02-21-2007
Well, then you're living for nothing. Immortality doesn't exist, and resurrection doesn't either. If either does come into existence, it probably won't be in our lifetime. So, while we are alive, we should be having fun and helping other people. In the end, it may not matter, but why worry about that? It's all about now and what you do with the time you do have. Why would I want to kill myself just because I'm eventually going to die? Why not live my life the way I want and enjoy it before the inevitable happens?

this is all subjective.
