Farming Sky scrappers
opps I put this as a response in someone's thread.... sorry. Anyways, I remember that Alex was saying something about Farming skyscrapers! They're actually doing this... http://weburbanist.com/2008/03/30/5-urban-design-proposals-for-3d-city-farms-sustainable-ecological-and-agricultural-skyscrapers/ In Sin city of all places. Anyhow, this would have a profound impact on very aridable places, like Ethopia, or countries of high population, and diminishing farming land. I'm surprised very surprised the People in Dubai haven't done this, what with their man made ski hill, or Saudi Arabia, where they have lots of money. Anyways Go America!!!!! take Brazil as a case study. Millions of people, a growing population, they have to rely on substandard soil for farming, and clearing out the rain forest. We need the forests for meds, and air. We could reclaim the rain forests. Or with people fighting over Israel for it's fertile farms. They could use technology in their Kubutzes, Which brings the question. Why the hell didn't Israel think of doing something like this? If mother is the necessity of invention. Or Japan? With Alex's rings, and modern Genetics, people are going to live longer, and need food. I don't think the sex drive would be eliminated, and thus, MORE people will live on farmland (as the case with China), or Japan. (the Elderly would become young again, and live even longer.....). This is a vital development.

It will be a big advance when it comes. Food will be so cheap and plentiful.

Farming sky scrapers might seem out rageous nowadays. But yes when land runs out, or when farming technology improves, you might start seeing them. There is more control over what you plant if farming is done indoor. Faster growth, more nutritious, less water consumption, etc.
