Extended Version Of Healthy, Strong, Weak... We can say the 12 stage cycle is the extended version of Healthy, strong, weak, buried, and disappear. It is more in depth and studied in 4 Pillars. It has to do with the entire cylce of the year in 12 months.
Each element (except earth) goes thru a 12 stage cycle, from birth to embryo, it is counted clockwise.
Water is born at s (1) etc.
Wood is born at h (1) etc.
Fire is born at y (1) etc.
Metal is burn at e (1) etc.
Metal, as example:
e - born (1)
w - romance (2)
wa - studying (3)
s - graduating (4)
yo - peak (5)
sh - retiring (6)
h - sickness (7)
t - death (8 )
c - grave (9)
y - disappearing (10)
m - embryo (11)
cn - developing (12)
Year: sh, Month: c, Day: cn-I, Empty: y & m
Trapped - 47
P wa - - blk
B yo - wht
K h - U gry
R w - - yel
P cn - red
G y - - J grn
6 Match
If we want to use this system in this hex , we can say K h (water), is in studying stage (3) at the year sh. Retiring (6) at the month c and in grave (9) at the day cn.

another option forf the the 12 stage cycle is:
Birth (1), Bath (2), Youth (3), Adulthood (4), Prime (5), Decline (6), Ill (7), Death 8 ), Buried (9), Void (10), Seed or Embryo (11), Pregnancy(12).
I've already been using Alex's method
But Xiao Hu is very good in iching
so i will try to the 12 stage cycles
But i think its ok to use Alex's
:?

The Chinese calendar is cyclical and each cycle is made up of 12 years and after the 12th year, the cycle is repeated.
alex himself says in link you added:
"The twelve dates are also the twelve years, or the twelve months, or the twelve hours. We Chinese use twelve different animals to represent the twelve astrological years. In the traditional Chinese clocks, there are only twelve hours. Which means, each Chinese hour consists two of the regular hours. The 12 letters are 12 years, 12 months, 12 dates, or 12 hours"
In alex chart Wood and Fire are counted clockwise without any jumps from one stage to another while not with Metal and Water.
Check Wood, healthy begins with sh than we have h, t ,c, y , m, cn, e, w, wa s, and yo. a complete cycle
Than Fire: healthy begin with c than we have y, m, cn, e, w, wa, s, yo, sh, h and t. a complete cycle
Same as the 12 stage cycle only difference is that alex limited the stages to 5: healthy, weak, strong, buried and disappear.
BUT when it comes to Metal and Water there are errors in his chart
Metal begins with cn, e than sh instead of w . w is in disappearing stage instead of healthy since w follows e in cycle not sh.
Than water healthy begins with s, yo than h instead of sh.. this isn't the correct order.
Yes, the Correct Chinese 12 stage cycle chart differs from alex limted errored chart.. so what?

Xiao Hu
Thanks for your help
so the metal is healthy in w, cn, e and sh?
and water is healthy in s, yo, h and sh?
are the weak and dead different also?

Thanks heaps for that Xiao :D
There is so much more to this than first meets the eye  Which is great because I loooooovvvvveeee to learn
Sanya - please, don't take everything that Alex says as gospel. There are many errors in his book as he decided to make fundamental changes that really shouldn't have been made - empty dates is another example.
Xiao is doing a great job of informing us about these chanages :D
Thanks again!
MD
ETA: With the hex above, in relation to Kh on U it is dead in the day - because it is weak (retiring) in the month, does the year give it enough strength to survive? I hope that made sense then, LOL!!
Thanks!
Oh, just making sure I've got this right as it makes alot more sense than Alex's chart:
With Gy on J line, it is developing (12) in the year, studying (3) in the month and retiring (6) in the day?
Cheers!

to Xiao Hu:
Yes I have noticed strangenesses in its diagrams. I think that Alex had the reasons to do these changes. If these changes work, it is a true way. So rules which you show us cannot be applied for Super I-ching.
Or it does not work and Alex's book is bullshit. What do you think?
Anyway your information is very interesting and it will be in 10 times more valuable if it can be put into practice.
Thanks.
to Makybe_Diva:
It is interesting to me to use Super I-ching for an exact predictions, and it is possible only if the book will be correct. I suggest to correct all errors in Alex's book and to name it Ultimate I-ching...

so the metal is healthy in w, cn, e and sh?
and water is healthy in s, yo, h and sh? are the weak and dead different also?
The 12-stage growth cycle is an extension of yin-yang and the Five Phase cycle of expansion, peak, harvest, decline and regeneration, or waxing and waning. Each of the Five Phases represents a season (Wood-Spring, Fire-Summer, Eearth- transition times from season to season, Metal-Fall, Water-Winter), as well as certain months of the year. The 12-stage growth cycle is comprised of the 12 branches, or Chinese zodiac animals, which are classic Taoist tools that communicate the energetics of hourly patterns.
Wu Ji views life as one integrated whole. Yin-yang views the whole in two interdependent aspects. The 12-stage growth cycle views the same whole in 12 aspects or energetic phases, with each phase having a relationship to the whole, as well as the other phases
The 12-stage growth cycle identifies the growth and decline stages in a cycle. The most favorable and potent stages for many applications of the Taoist arts are stages four and five, or adult and prime (Wang). Every pattern has these cycles, which can provide opportunities. For example, in flying stars feng shui (xuan kong fei xing), we identify the Wang stars and activate them to generate auspicious and prosperous energies and influences. The 12-stage growth cycle is the energetic structure of the meridian clock. Numerous methods of identifying acupuncture and herbal treatment methods exist within this energy pattern.
Cycle Stage:
1. Birth – Chang Sheng – needs energy
2. Childhood – Mu Yu – needs energy
3. Adolescence – Guan Dai – needs direction
4. Adulthood – Lin Guan – rising, growth
5. Prime – Di Wang – peak
6. Decline – Sui – harvest, decline
7. Aging – Bing – weakening
8. Death – Si – depletion
9. Dormancy – Mu – buried, storing
10. Void – Jue – preparation
11. Embryo – Tai – beginning
12. Pregnancy – Yang – new creation has begun
Each element goes thru a 12 stage cycle. if metal is "healthy" in cn than Metal will be a bit stronger in e and a bit stronger in w since w is next stage in cycle etc. in yo metal will be at pick stage. that when metal is strongest since yo is metal.
Water will be storngest in h (water).
