Exact time of birth Dear all,
I am a new registered user and I hope I will learn much on this forum.
Forgive me if I am not very skilled but I do not use forums very often.
I have Alex's book, I am impressed and try to use it on more or less every day basis. I would like to post a new topic I am sure many of you are interested in.
Can I find out my exact time of birth by using Super I-Ching?
I am sure we all know our exact date of birth (like I do), but most of us are not sure about our exact time of birth. My mother does not remember and the information is not added in my birth certificate.
If Super I-Ching is appropriate to find this out, what would be my appointed star?
Has anyone tried this by now?

Welcome Vilda,
I dont use I-CHING but im sure someone here can tell you, i guess ALEX can answer this one..

divination is based on approssimation and raw estimation, i wouldn't use as an accurate tool for such precise accuray.
Iching has been proven to be inaccurate

a No, iching can only answer yes or no questions.

Thank you all for your replies. It is nice to see that people support each other on the forum.
I would like to reply to: male992000.
Well, that's exactly what I meant. Yes or no type of question. You see, I know that I was born between 7:00 and 10:00 a.m. So, what I meant to do is to start with "Was I born between 7:00 and 8:00?" and so on. When I get the exact answer it would be easier to get the exact time as well. I have a friend who is a professional astrologer and she can do "rectification" (I think that is how the word is spelled). This is a process of finding the exact time of birth according to some major events in a person's life-time (although I did not have much of them). However, in order to do that she needs 1 hour approximate time-span.
So, if I use I-Ching for this pupose, what would be my appointed and what do I have to look for in a hexagram? What do you think?
One of you mentioned that maybe Alex would be able to answer my question. How do I reach Alex?
kamebazooka- 04-16-2008
If you are skilled enough to get an accurate answer from ICHING, would you need to consult an astrologer? -- you could simply use ICHING to divine the future directly. However I don't think Alex can guarantee such an accurate answer as he only seems to offer vague ones. (This looks good, this looks bad... etc...)

a I have no idea.

Hello!
Excuse the question, but are you a guy or a girl?
I think it would be G star for a girl and an R star for a guy. Not 100% sure though.
Good luck!

I am a girl, so I guess I would have to use a G star then. Some of you mentioned that I-Ching can only offer vague answers. I guess this depends on how good one can interpret the hexagrams.
I surely received answers that had nothing to do with how things turned out to be at the end, but I also had such accurate answers that exactly predicted dates and that really scared me with their accuracy.
I now try to avoid very important and relevant answers as I do not want I-Ching to influence my beliefs in case I get negative predictions.
In general, I have seen that if I do a reading for someone else, I get very accurate answers that actually DO predict. Maybe it is because I am not biased when I ask questions. But if the question is of great personal importance to me, I somehow maybe influence the coins and I get answers that have nothing to do with reality.
Someone might think that I am VERY experienced reading these lines. I am actually not. I consult Super I-Ching for almost 2 years on more or less irregular basis (sometimes 4-5 times a week, and sometimes once in a month) , so I am able to read more or less obvious signs, but I would like to become better.
My problem is that I have so many additional questions the book does not seem to answer (or I can not find the answer) so any additional help would be welcome.

I know - and it is so annoying as well :o
I'm a bit like you in that I have been messing around with Super I Ching for the past two years on and off, but mainly to do with gambling
However, over the past 6 or so months I have been alot more serious about it all. You will find that some things are actually a little bit different than what Alex has stated in his book, such as empty dates (which is covered in the super i ching section of this forum).
With regards to asking questions and if you are being biased or not, I have found that working on breathing exercises has helped alot in calming my mind before asking a question and throwing the coins.
Super I Ching is alot more accurate than I Ching in that you can ask more specific questions. The hard part is the interpretation, along with anything that Alex hasn't covered or doesn't know about.
For instance, I have been using super i ching with regards to my footy tipping. Round 5 has just been and I have been averaging 6 to 7 out of 8. What my partner and I have found is that we have to be of very clear mind when asking about the team that we go for as personal opinions can and do play havoc with the outcomes. I also use super i ching to bet on the NBA games and have been doing quite well with those as well - and I know nothing about NBA.
I hope that this helps.
All the best,
MD

Hi, Makybe Diva. I am sorry I did not reply earlier, I was on a business trip so I was not able to connect. Yes, I understand what you mean.
I guess the coins answer to each one of us in a way that is unique for each one of us, we just need to interpret the meaning. And each person needs to learn how to interpret the hexagrams. I see I Ching as an art of personal conversation with the Devine and we just need to understand the signs.
I am very glad that betting goes so well for you. When you ask a question about a certain team, do not perceive it as a big deal so I-Ching will offer a valid and an accurate answer. Just think to your self that there are lots of other teams you can bet on, what is important I guess is that you don't perceive the question very seriously. I used to throw the coins about matters that were very important to me. And as long as the matter is so important and you think " O, this has has to go well for me, or otherwise I do not know what to do", your stomach gets anxious and at the end when you get R star, you do not if it represents "I'll get what I asked for" or of it represents your anxiety and worry.
You see, I am a qualified stock exchange trader, I passed the exam a long time ago and I used to be very good. But once, I consulted I-Ching on "shall I become a REALLY successful trader?" and I received many moving B starts. Since then, I did not trade often. I did it for fun and because I REALLY loved it (I loved the excitement of the "game"). I have my own business now and do something totally different for living and I am sorry I did not continue with trading, but the answer I got really influenced my judgment and my beliefs about future outcomes, which is the most dangerous thing that can happen. Just to clarify, I never consulted I-Ching about a certain stock, I did my own analysis and I was very good as I believed in my own skills, but the damn question I asked about my general performance as a trader influenced my beliefs and made me scared about what could happen if I was to continue. I am not saying that one should be completely non-serious when putting questions as that is also the kind of answer one can receive, one just needs to be calm and relaxed. Breathing exercises can really be a good method, and I'll give it a try.
Sometimes, if I get complicated hexagrams I think to my self: "this is the way I interpreted it, but there are also details about the hexagrams I can not interpret, so who knows if my interpretation is actually the accurate one". I guess trying I-Ching on smaller, less important matters will help us understand the way of our personal interpretation we should use and then we can also apply it on more serious matters.

Hello!

This is so true, which is one of the reasons why I have been applying it to gambling - sometimes I bet based on my results, sometimes not. Normally, if I get a confusing sign (such as Revolution - 49), then I will do a re-throw about an hour or so later. I did start off using i ching for horse racing, which just does your head in  There are just too many questions and sometimes the return isn't worth all the time and effort that goes into the interpretation.
My attitude towards super i ching is that it is a lifestyle choice and that it is something that won't be learned in a short amount of time - it's something that will take years to master, which is fine by me. Since starting super i ching, I just feel so much more connected to, well, me. I have also found that things just aren't bothering me as much as they used to.
However, I am finding that I am becoming more socially isolated as I enjoy super i ching however people I have contact with just wouldn't understand what and why, iykwim. But then, I am also socially isolated because people don't feel comfortable around me when I explain that both of my boys have ASD (autistic spectrum disorder) - but that's just how things are
Wishing you all the best,
MD

Dear MD,
Sorry to hear that about your boys. But that's not why normal people should feel discomforted. In contrary, that is the reason they should feel closer both to you and your boys. I had personal experience with children with ASD. You get attached to them so easily and they get right into your heart. They are so much easier to love than "regular" kids who often tend to forget all the love you gave them as soon as they find their own way.
I feel that sad stories actually appear in "regular" homes despite all the opportunities these families enjoy, not in homes with ASD children.
Best regards and many good bets
Vilda :)
