Emptiness vs Bounds
Empty elements outweigh bound elements in importance in terms of determing when a line will move. ie Month: t Date: yo Empty: t & c retreating line J Pcn o Pc This is an example in the book. When I first looked at this I thought, Pcn is bound to yo, so it will retreat when there is a strike. It represented "worries disappearing". But in the book it said on day t the problem cleared up. ( Because c and t are the empty dates, and Pc is the second element in the line ). So from this I assumed that the emptiness fulfilling in the second hexagram, overrides the bound element in the first hexagram, in determining when the line will move. I repeat, this was an example in the book, taken from the chapter on advance and retreating lines. Can somebody confirm this?
