I guess I wasn't very specific in explaining why I left that forum and I think I owe my friends on this board a better explanation. The main reason I left that board wasn't due to anyone in particular. I realize that every board has their own set of rules and I believe some rules are good when trying to maintain or establish certain forums such as medical, colon cleansing and other types of forums but every rule imposed essentially filters out what can be posted on that board. Over the last couple of years, I belonged to a board that was pretty good but whenever a problem occured, the administrator developed and enforced a new rule. Eventually there were so many rules that people were afraid of posting anything. That board went belly up last month. The board may come back under new managment but the members of that board may not. What I'm saying is, for every rule imposed on these boards, there will be a sacrifice of volume which isn't necessarily a bad thing but good stuff can be filtered out with the bad as well and that's not a good thing for example, I'm a member at one board and they were talking about holloween and what costumes people were going to wear when one guy said he was going to be jesus then another guy said "jesus is a good choice. I can't think of anything scarier than jesus." The next poster who was clearly a church going christian was very disturbed about that and said how much better christianity is to muslums. At that point all hell broke loose so the administrator came in and deleted all the posts and told people to leave jesus off the boards. I haven't heard from a couple of the members in some time so maybe they left permanently but that incident demonstrates how one persons sensitivity can in turn, offend others. One undeniable truth to these boards is that anything a person posts could at some point offend sombody somewhere so in my opinion, managing a board and keeping the peace would require one to posess super human powers. I personally feel that religious topics belong in a catagory all their own which would be a compromise between keeping it off the boards completely and mentioning it with every post they make especially when their intent is clearly to annoy others on the board. I didn't leave the board and my friends because of any one individual. Even though ato is similiar to jock itch and delibrately annoys the shit out of me, I didn't leave because of him. The sole reason I left the board was because a couple of things I posted were deleted and that's it! Once something of mine is deleted, I don't see any point in putting time and effort into posting anything anymore. I know this post will be deleted too but you know I had to try. And to all that I consider to be my good friends, cheers!
