I was thinking that rings probably revert age to 25 for men and 19 for women, because growth stop at these age, it's different in men and women. This is also because alex doesn't seem exactly 18 years old, but more adult. In fact, a 18 years old woman is an adult woman, while a man is really adult only at 25.
