A Communist State is Born
Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) 30.52% Communist Party of Nepal (United Marxist-Leninist) 21.63% Communist Party of Nepal (Marxist-Leninist) 1.63% People's Front Nepal 1.33% National People's Front 0.91% Nepal Workers Peasants Party 0.64% Communist Party of Nepal (Unified) 0.50% Communist Party of Nepal (United) 0.38% Total 57.54% In the first elections held in nine years, the Communist parties are victorious... The other major party accounting for 22.79% is the Nepali Congress (which is a member of the Socialist International). The Nepalese monarchy has finally been overthrown and the red star of Communism shall rise to grace the lands of Nepal.

Great, if they voted communists in, they deserve communism. Atleast Nepal hasn't got much to lose anyway.

this is good news.... now there will be one less country asking for relief. As their country embraces science, it can modernize.

It's going to be interesting to see what happens during the writing process of the constitution. Remember, 57.54% of their parliament are Communists, but the only party opposing to Communism is the Nepali Congress, which accounted for 22.79% of the vote. ... and you're right about embracing science and developing. I have a feeling that Communism with a foundation that suits the 21st century is just what Nepal needed (any what every developing country needs).

This came in a few hours ago... Apparently the king is ready to leave the palace quietly and hand over control to the Communists. http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5iK28eGi6_9ON39Yz5mXK_x2EmOWA
